“Because grifting the right is easier”

This.

If I wanted a stream of guaranteed, easy income, they're the marks I'd work.

I used to arbitrage the art of the deal from Amazon to eBay. I was the top result for the art of the deal for most of 2016.

*Pretends to be shocked*

Fascism peaking in America and making this switch is so embarrassing

Because she was never really on it?

She was a propagandist for liberal progressives for years I dont think we need to pretend that away. What did it though? Whats important is we dont trust her bullshit reasons she'll give to the camera and actually dissect why that came to happen. The Young Turks have not been steller from the beginning but they've had a clear decline.

Not hating gay people and wanting Medicare for all doesn’t make her a progressive when she’s like, 1 step removed from calling to cull the homeless and trans populations.

She’s always been in a weird place

Being a propagandist for does not require ideological commitment to a cause.

I seem to have a healthy aversion to self proclaimed savior mouthpieces of the progressive movement. They've all come off as tacky, misled, sensational, overimportant.

So far all the big ones people have encouraged me to stan have all become grifters. Pool, Dore, now TYT. So far except KO, but I can't listen to him anymore because he's just either telling me things I already know, or giving me false hope.

For the money, of course. Nobody gets rich by being generous or kind or empathetic or even human. To attain any sort of ridiculous wealth at all, sociopathic heartlessness needs to be fully embraced.

From Jacobin to Jillian. What a character arc.

I was just about to say the same! Her being one of Jacobin’s top contributors has not aged well at all. Good grief.

How does one voluntarily "leave" their values? Not even interested in listening.

She was always a grifter. Good riddance

It's hilarious to me that when you boil it all down, her only real belief in anything is that homeless people are icky.

No guys come on the left left her! /s

Shakey Ghurga is right behind her.

Isn't this an old episode? This isn't recent.

u/tinymightybaddie 7d ago

This is pretty old and not her title

Once again I feel smugly vindicated in having never given her shit the time of day.

Wasn't this the person who had a homeless person be mean to them once, so they just abandoned the Left entirely?

20

u/SactownShane 7d ago

Yes and she was SA technically. But still doesn’t give her the excuse for wanting to melt all homeless people.

u/SoftcoverWand44 7d ago

Started going on about how much she hated the phrase “pregnant people” and it was all downhill from there.

What's weird is how she's a GROWN ADULT struggling with this so hard. I knew i recognized her from somewhere. I remember her being sort of overbearing before that happened.

I bet that's all it is. A "white female feminist" who is actually just a bigot, hiding behind feminism.

Because even if you don't think people should be trans, it's just not really anyone's business.

I think feminism has been getting a lot of push back lately, but it's mostly been unfair. But this is a clear example of feminism being hateful instead of egalitarian

Is that… the lady from biggest loser? Sheesh.

Wait what the fuuuuuuuuck? This is out of left field. I stopped watching TYT after I turned 18 because I realized how crummy they were as a source of news, but I would have never predicted this.

u/Moonlight_Acid 6d ago

She started the tilt a few years ago, i think something to do with terf shit. She got mad about the term “Birthing Persons” being used in medical fields to be trans inclusive

3

u/Moonlight_Acid 6d ago

Ana Kasparian is such a disappointment. I used to watch The Young Turks every morning, I moved on to the Majority Report, but this is still very upsetting

2

u/Junior-Credit2685 6d ago

Definitely try the Bitchuation Room. Francesca just officially dumped her old boss. Her and cenk got in a fight over this same issue. She is trying to make a go of it by herself.

4

u/SillyAlternative420 7d ago

I remember when she got all up in arms about the use of the term "fascist"...

Wonder if she still has that stupid fucking view

4

u/knoft 7d ago

I guess we can trace this trajectory all the way back to her defending Cenk denying the genocide of her people. The event that actually coined the term genocide. (The Armenian Genocide) And Cenk didn't just deny it, he basically got his degree writing a paper on it iirc.

3

u/Moonlight_Acid 6d ago

We should not judge people on their past mistakes but on their present actions. He has long since denounced those beliefs and acknowledges the genocide. Idk if you didnt know that, but its pretty common knowledge so i feel like youre just being disingenuous because you dont like Cenk

We all called it.  This grift is the easiest thing in the world to predict.

5

u/utbd26 7d ago

Who cares? you all obsess over nonsense

3

u/chap820 7d ago

So is Ben Burgis still calling her “The Great Ana Kasparian?”

u/I_pinchyou 7d ago

Oh my god a group that I once made my whole identity about said one thing I disagree with, now I'm a Nazi. Ffs. People over identifying with anything is pathetic.

She used to host a podcast for Jacobin. Then she saw a homeless guy, some hispanic roofers, and some clunky wording in a medical style guide* and said, "it's all gone too far for me. I'm a reactionary now!"

Either that, or she's exactly like Rollo Goodlove and Anne Coulter in that Boondocks episode. Honestly, it's probably a combination.

*"parent" is a much more natural non gendered equivalent for "mother" than "birthing person." That said, turning right wing because of a clunky term is simply ridiculous and makes me think she was never that tolerant to begin with.

1

u/HailTatiana 4d ago

I'm actually not surprised. Perhaps Cenk is next. Right wing grifting seems to be more profitable for neoliberal capitalists.

u/theizzz 6d ago

ok hear me out: what if what she's doing is actually based? like, if she's grifting right wing losers and orgs to give her loads of cash and then just taking that money and donating it to leftist orgs and mutual aid networks, isn't that a form of redistributing wealth? shouldn't we all be doing this because the right are fucking morons? clearly "you go low and we go high" doesn't and hasn't worked for decades, so when they go low, we go to the floor. bleeding the right of their money from under their noses might be our only move to defeat them tbh
