Photo or Video These wild ducks adopted us I guess

They started showing up a few days ago so I have been tossing out extra sunflower hearts for them. They've been back 3 days in a row and today she waited at the door until I delivered the goods lol

May I suggest feeding them a mix of cracked corn, oats, freeze-dried mealworms, and bird seed. Make sure to put a bowl of water right next to this mixture. When they begin eating the food and then dip their bills into the water, you will see why I have suggested this. I posted a picture of the bonded mating pair of Mallards that would visit our backyard beginning in April and then would visit us daily until mid June. They did this for 3 years in a row. It came to a screeching halt one day when several Drakes followed Edith into our backyard and began trying to mate with her while fighting with Edward. Because I didn't want them to take Edith away from edward, I stood watch the entire time and did not allow this to happen. I defended Edith's honor for Edward. Eventually all of the other Drake's went away and Edward prevailed because of my help.

In the second picture you'll actually see her standing in a bowl right next to the sidewalk! She always pauses to go get a drink every so often and she seems to enjoy standing in it

Just don’t feed them right out of the door. you’ll end up having poop all over your porch all the time. Trust me on this.
