Do college credits expire?

I earned an associates degree in 2010. If I went back to college would those credits apply toward a Bachelors degree?

Talk to the admissions dept of whichever college you’re transferring to; it’s entirely up to them.

Depends on the program. When I was getting my degree certain programs wanted the credits to have been completed in the last 5 years. It depended credit to credit though depending on subject matter. Call the school you would be applying to and ask.

Generally complete degrees like an Associates or Bachelors does not expire.

But if you have a few classes and not a complete degree, they generally “expire” after five years and you can’t use them to complete a degree anymore, you might have to take them again.

It very much depends on the policies of your next school. Lots of colleges only accept transfer credits from the past 7 years, others will take credits from longer ago than that, a few of them don't have a time limit on transfer credits.

There are also some programs that are specifically designed to help returning students complete a degree.

I’m 38 and in my final term for my BS. My grades from when I was 19 are dragging down my GPA.
