RESTORATION REQUEST restoration still possible?

very rare photo of my stern grandfather smiling in the sun. really resonates with me. is it possible to restore it with this level of fading?

Colours are the real ones. I dont know if the original has more scratches or stains that we cant notice. At least now you can see him a little more a little improvement

I tried to edit that more but results werent really great so i havent posted them.
