How do people here feel about Suburban Commando?
Just curious because I was interested in seeing the movie for Hulk Hogan himself as one of the most notable aspects of the movie is that it stars him in the main role, but I have no idea on how the writing is.

I WAS FROZEN TODAY!
It is not bad, i mean for a cheap vehicle for a well known name trying to become a movie star in a movie geared for kids, i imagine it has aged horrifically simply because we are not 12 years old and think Hulk Hogan is an awesome guy anymore.

I liked it, thought it was entertaining! What can I say, I liked Mr. Nanny too, lol!

Well I was looking for a campy movie as I hear the movie is kind of cheesy in its plot.

It’s a nice place to live, but I wouldn’t want to visit. Watched it when it released to video. Thought it was very dumb and then watched it every week for months.
Great creature effects. Very campy. Skateboarding throughout.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was choosing between the script for this movie and Twins.

I am rather surprised to hear that Ahnold wanted to be in this movie as now I am trying to picture how the movie would have gone in his accent regarding performance.

They probably would have had to change the title and it probably would have bombed anyways. He was very strategic about which movies he chose as to not tarnish his brand. This movie would have reinforced the stereotypes of his movies in the worst way.

It's pretty lame but you at least get to see undertaker in his only film role

This is why I love this sub lol.
This movie was fine. I’m not sure about the writing, as I judge movies based on entertainment value only. When it came out I remember thinking it was fine. Larry Miller is in it and I am always a fan of his.

I like when he crushes the melon. It was wild as a kid seeing hulk not being the hulk.

I laughed a few times in the first ten minutes. After that, it became a series of scenes where Hulk Hogan growls at people ad nauseam.
