Position Overview:

As we work towards the launch of our MVP, we are seeking a mid-senior level developer with expertise in Flutter and cross-platform mobile app development. This is a part-time contract role that offers flexibility and the opportunity to earn based on the quality and speed of your work. The position will start with a local Pittsburgh preference, allowing for occasional in-person collaboration, but we are open to fully remote candidates once trust and performance are established.

Key Responsibilities:

  • App Architecture and Development: Design and build the foundational structure of the app, including the app shell, basic flow, and integration of key features.
  • Feature Implementation: Develop and implement core features, aligning the application interface with the product's mission and user experience goals.
  • Backend Integration: Collaborate with backend developers to integrate user settings and features (backend experience is preferred but not required for the initial phase).
  • Deployment and Maintenance: Push and deploy code changes to production, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Bug Reporting and Debugging: Assess and troubleshoot bugs, both pre- and post-condition, and implement fixes in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain a detailed work log, documenting progress on tasks, and contributing to project timelines and milestones.

Key Requirements:

  • US-based candidates legally authorized to work as a 1099 contractor.
  • Proven experience in Flutter and Dart for cross-platform mobile development (iOS and Android).
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your tasks and timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to write clear and detailed documentation on development tasks and progress.

Compensation:

  • This is a part-time contract position, with pay based on experience and work efficiency.
  • Pay is TASK BASED and predetermined based on the estimated time to complete the task
  • Minimum starting pay for less experienced candidates is $15/hr, with potential for negotiation based on your expertise.
  • Pay for more experienced candidates can be negotiated
  • You will be compensated based on project time forecasts for tasks, ensuring transparency and alignment on expectations for each sprint.
  • Bi-weekly payouts with a flexible workload: The faster you work, the more you can earn. If you complete a task ahead of schedule, you may have the opportunity to move on to additional tasks as they become available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full-stack experience, including designing and implementing scalable backends with technologies such as Firebase, Google Cloud, or AWS.
  • Experience with server deployment, load balancing, and scalable architecture using tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in domain configuration, setting up development environments, and managing databases.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, data cleaning, and sourcing data from various data lakes (both physical and online).
  • Proficiency in data scraping and API integrations.
  • Strong interest in long-term project involvement, with a passion for seeing the project through from initial development to launch, and potentially transitioning to an ownership/maintenance role.
