What was the reason for disallowing Job board links?

They actually are shows a portfolio of person, we can read reviews and not get scammed.

Affiliate links block is obvious.

On a Job sub reddit, job board links are banned, that's kind of strange and discourages talent.

Most job board links are just copy/pasted from another site, and the poster does not respond to questions or PMs.

Not job board link. I mean profile link.

Like if I create a For Hire post, I can show my previous works from Upwork profile and Fiverr profile etc.

When you see a 200 Karma reddit account you don't know my quality of service. But when you see 500 reviews at a freeleancing site you know whom you are hiring.

I don't think that's being banned? At least the example they provided was not like that.

I am not sure, but last time I mentioned my freelancing profile it got deleted and got some message like job board profile is not allowed .

So I thought that is the rule that you cannot mention Your profile.

And also I read somewhere in the sub, that they undercut or does not give everyone equal oppurtunity of getting hired or that's why it is not allowed.

That logic seems very strange. I might be wrong.

Well, if you have a 5-star profile at some other site and I don't (because I only use /r/forhire for work), then I'm probably at a disadvantage. That part does make sense to me.

Your voices have been heard, and the new rule has been implemented:

NEW Affiliate links and links to job boards are no longer allowed.

Disallow both. It lowers the quality of the subreddit.

I believe a link to some particular vacancy might be ok - but not the whole set of different categories.

Affiliate links are bad though, they should be disallowed.

I say disallow them, personally.

Job board links posts are pretty rare, so I don't think they should be banned. Affiliate links are bad though, they should be disallowed.
