Reminiscing about some of my fav blooms from last season as we approach last frost in 5 days! 🌸

Grew all these beauties from seed for the first time last season in a north-facing, container garden in New England, 6b. Dahlias & Zinnias from Floret Flower Farm. Cosmos from Botanical Interests. Edible violas from Johnny’s. Wish I had a southern exposure but you gotta make the best with what ya got!

What flowers are you looking forward to growing this season?

Thank you!! I thought so too. Never cared for them until I watched Floret’s videos & grew them myself & fell so in love! Think the downside is that flea beetles & caterpillars love to hide in the flower head. Can be kind of buggy surprise when you don’t wash them well enough for bouquets. 😂

Beautiful flowers from seed! I love your violas, particularly. I have no luck with zinnias with my shade.

Thanks! I love the violas too. Had to hold myself back from buying more from Johnny’s! Ah sorry to hear. Zinnias are definitely sun loving, but violas don’t mind the shade at all, so at least you’ve got something to work with! Hellebores too!
