Question - Solved Can I port campaigns from homm complete to play in hota?
Hi everyone!
Back in the day when I played chronicles, to play with hd mod i know i downloaded them as custom campaign and added them to the hota gamemod(i only missed hero pictures but that was by choice, they come with the campaigns)
I was wondering, can I do the same with the original campaigns? If so, where do I get the files. I figured i have them in the game folder, just dont know where.

Put the files on your MAPS folder and then start them through New game > campaign > custom

Super cool! Note that Elixir of Life needs to be corrected in the file and in the title within the file itself (once opened with the campaign editor). Additionally, only six of the eight Heroes Chronicles campaigns are in this file, and only Warlords of the Wasteland takes place before the events of the game's other campaigns -- all the other seven Chronicles campaigns take place after all the other campaigns.
If needed, I can share my Heroes Chronicles HotA versions with the Tarnum portraits enabled; message me if interested

You can in theory. There was a program which allowed extraction of campaign files from the game into just a campaign file. There name was MMArchive I believe. However I never tried to use it. So I can't recommend it

I had previously attempted to do this by loading SoD/AB/RoE campaign saves in HotA (pre-1.7.0) and I do not recommend it as it bugs the scenario transitions and you can't go to a new campaign after completing whichever one you're on.
However! If someone has extracted the campaigns and remade then into HotA-compatible versions, including banning Cove/Factory heroes as needed, I'd love to have those custom campaigns.
