Are archangels immune to resurrection?

New player here. This game is amazing. A kind of game I've dreamed of. Mage Knight the board game, which I've played and loved, I suspect was inspired by this gem.

Anyways - I was playing vs AI earlier today on RMG 61m10a 160% (HOTA 1.7.1) and one of my Archangel stacks (4 stack) couldn't resurrect a seperate AA 2 stack who had itself lost 2 AA's earlier in the battle. I'm currently away from my computer so can't recall verbatim what the hover message at the bottom of the screen was when hovering over the 2 stack during the 4 stack's turn, but it was something like, "Archangels are immune to resurrection".

Any thoughts on why I couldn't res these AA's?

LYRIDION --> SOLUTION: If they had the ring of oblivion equipped, it would say the same as if it was you. So it's probably what happened here. The message it gives is exactly the one you had

The stack you tried to resurrect probably had anti-magic, or you had power of the dragon father, or you had ring of oblivion equipped. Without seeing the exact message you had, it's hard to know which situation it was, but there are multiple ways that could prevent you from resurrecting.

Ah, I should have included this info:

I did have the sense to check my arti's after the fight, and I wasn't wearing anything that gave any sort of effect.

Couldn't see what he was wearing cause he ran, even still, would such a hover message be generated due to an artifact ward?

If they had the ring of oblivion equipped, it would say the same as if it was you. So it's probably what happened here. The message it gives is exactly the one you had.

Yeah, that must be it then. I guess I figured the message would give me a little more info.. gotta say, I kinda like that it doesn't. Like.. it didn't lie 😂. After all, the archangels were in fact immune to res.. doesn't matter why. I like it.

Were you playing against an enemy hero? They may have had the Ring of Oblivion, which makes death permanent.

Hmm, ya I was. In that case, would the hover message have been, "Archangels are immune to resurrection", do you think?

Yeah, I think so. That sounds pretty standard for when a spell won’t work on a creature attack…even a beneficial spell.

Vlada Chvatil (author of Mage Knight) is an old guard gamer from Czech republic. Homam3 has quite a huge following here so I think that the bet that his game was inspired by it is a safe one.

1 archangel iirc can either resurrect 100 hp worth of units or 200. If you are trying to resurrect an archangel with 1 other archangel, it won't work. You need either 2 or 3

You could have casted antimagic, enemy could have an orb or ring of Oblivion?

Would such a hover message as, "AA's are immune to resurrection" be generated if he was wearing ring of Oblivion?

ANYONE / whois an anyone, and has come from original Heroes3, and is feeling stronger than an Archangel 💪 knows drugs and alcohol. We gained our knowledge back then, and swing hard on this channel (aka mIRC) and WE ARE THE ARCHANGEL.
