Did you know? nr. 199 - Hero movement

Post image

The distance a hero can travel on the adventure map is determined at the start of the day by the speed of their slowest creature and any relevant movement artifacts. Changes made afterwarddo not affect their movement.

Good tip: End your turn in the mine and place your slowest units as guards. You will have more movement the next day.

WHAT? I have played this game ever since I was 5 and I didn't know the units in my party determine my move speed

Bro, learned a few months ago it’s like I never even met her

Any idea how much it will impact considering no Logistics nor artifacts and a neutral terrain?

Say a hero that has the slowest creature with 3 speed vs 5 speed vs 8 speed, for example.

Bonus - Some hero types have higher or lower chance of learning logistics then others. Tower casters and Conflux casters are at a 2, the lowest to learn it, while inferno might at a 10 is the highest to learn it with fortress magic in second at a 9 to learn it.

You never notice how Necro officers move like snails and rampart/conflux scouts zoom around their area?

I mean I just assumed that because I always had the option for logistics with those heroes 🤔

Yeah even with logistics there’s a huge difference, so people always store slower units in town or a secondary hero if they can

Well, I suppose I never would have made the correlation here, but I've been playing this game for years and never had an idea about that!

Didn't you notice how fast you start moving if you don't have dwarfs in your army?

I usually keep them in my army 😅

Well, it is effected: getting rid of the slowest creature and gaining morale

If I’m in a castle or have a scout hero nearby, I stash all troops except my fastest. Having a logistics specialty hero keep only Phoenixes in the army overnight means a great next day

11 speed is the maximum, as long as you have faster units than 11, your movement will not change

You can find more on this page, but once you reach number 200, I want to revise them all and edit them a bit graphically to make them better readable. https://heroes3wog.net/did-you-know-second-edition/

Ithink it the background that sucks for readability

It completely changes the way you play campaigns. When you get some decent magic or like a single dragon , you just zip around the map, prioritize balista and have a very different experience
