Lately I've been doing target shooting and I'm looking in to starting hunting. In my experience so far, gotta say, a lot of gun people are fucking weird man.
1
u/vagueblur901 May 04 '19
And this is how neighbors get shot accidentally for home defense a shotgun would be the best thing not a fucking hunting rifle

Unfortunately, all his guns have been stolen so he's just going to, y'know, throw them at any home Invaders.

Shotguns are best for home defense.
I wish dumbfucks like this at least knew their shit and stopped trying to be garage sale gangsters.

A guy I delivered food to had a picture of those shooting range targets saying something like, “please try to rob me. I’m prepared.” The target had bullet holes in them. This person also had those camera doorbells. So, while I was waiting, I clearly read that and looked at the camera and said, “Look out guys, we got a badass over here.” Can’t wait for him to watch the video. How can people be that psychotic?
1
u/OneNightDave May 04 '19
I hate when motherfuckers do this shit. The defend my home shit is the weakest defense in wanting to own guns. No one is normally stupid enough to rob a place when your dumbass is home anyway. Now you waste literally thousands of dollars on guns and ammo you can not use to defend against threats that will not exist in most cases.
1
1
u/CizonaFE May 04 '19
I can just imagine him furiously chucking bullets at Intruders as they beat the shit out of him on camera
1
u/Nowayjose5564 May 04 '19
Hmmmm seen as he has bullets and no gun I do not think he is sending a very strong message.
Also break ins normally happen when I dunno your not home to fire your gun at them.

In South Africa they will target you for that. One of the first things they ask you for are guns and ammo.

Yeah i don't think 300's a good caliber for home defense, shit even 12g shotty can be a bad idea for house made out of mostly wood.

u/Dragonfruit_1 May 04 '19
That's dumb. You shouldn't ever show off your guns(in this case ammo lol) like that on social media, that's like showing off wads of cash, just stupid.
1
u/chahlie May 04 '19
Phew! I like to start small with things in my ass, that's very thoughtful. I dunno about about the camera, though, it always adds ten pounds.
1
u/woolsey1977 May 04 '19
It's been a while since I was in the army, but aren't red tips, tracer rounds? Or do they mean something else for civilian munitions? Civilians with tracers is a big no-no last I heard, unless you have a special permit.( They mostly go to some gun ranges and private military company's I think)
1
u/heavycream88 May 04 '19
Every time before I go out to rob a house, I check their social media first to make sure theyre not posting things like this

u/CapRavOr May 04 '19
I love how people like this act as if the night their house gets broken into, they’re going to be waiting in a pre-made sandbag bunker with full riot gear, and an arsenal big enough to take out a small militia all for the one or two stupidest criminals in the world who would be dumb enough to break into a home while its occupants where there rather than case the place and rob it when no one’s home.
There’s a reason you don’t hear a lot of stories about burglars getting shot dead. Few of them are dumb enough to rob an occupied home. Also, there’s a good chance that if someone is gonna rob you at night while you’re asleep, they’re going to attempt to catch you off guard and disarm you before you have the chance to wake up, realize what’s happening, find your loaded firearm, and kill them.
Or, if you’re getting raped and/or murdered by the EAR/ONS, you’re gun is moved and/or unloaded.

Meanwhile most gun owners don’t want to advertise the guns they own. Especially the fun ones that were lost in an unfortunate boating accident or technically don’t exist because that would be illegal to own now wouldn’t it?
1
u/BEEEELEEEE May 04 '19
The inclusion of “for your ass” makes me think he plans on using the bullets as buttplugs

I had a manager like that, who I hated more than anything. He was degrading all the time and loved to show his employees pics of his guns all the time. One day he threatened to "pop me in the head", and now he is collecting unemployment. He also harrassed the high school girls who worked for us.

.300 win mag will tear you in half. That’s no round to fuck around with, it has incredible penetrating power and will go through multiple houses before stopping.
Tell your manager that he’s an idiot and that he’s going to kill an innocent person with that thing.
5.56 wont penetrate anything significant, so he’s safe using that. Lmao little pea shooter
Edit: added “significant”
1
u/AndThusThereWasLight May 04 '19
5.56 will tear through drywall. If you miss and someone is in the next room, they’re dead.
0
u/Growdanielgrow May 04 '19
Yeah drywall isn’t much, I meant through anything significant. You’re right though, sometimes that’s all that’s in between you and a neighbor.

I just pictured an angry guy throwing a handful of bullets at a robber.
1
u/king-guy May 03 '19
Fun fact even if you do murder someone in self defense it will usually cost you around $100,000 to be able to prove it. So unless your tv or shitty laptop are worth more than that to you, I wouldn’t recommend killing someone even in the case of a home invasion.
1
u/koh_kun May 03 '19
I'm surprised that these tough gun people don't just offend each other and kill each other off. Like, you'd think that if they were actually rough tough bastards, they'd see these posts as a challenge and go break in to the house.
1
u/XanderTheChef May 03 '19
Yeah, just advertise how much valuable ammo and weapons you have. Seems like a great idea.
1
u/VilleOlento May 03 '19
I fucking hate it when I do this shit. Like I honestly say my thoughts, but everyone gets all agressive and shit.
Like I was talking about how lazy I am. I was eating an omelette, but I forgot my knife and fork and was too lazy to get them so I cut the omelette with my butterfly knife. I found it funny so I posted it on snapchat.
And literally like 5 people were just attacking me with "r/iamverybadass" and other insults. I'm just silly and stupid, but people always think I'm flexing.
I stumbled around with my words because I've stayed up for 23hrs..(once again. Not trying to be a badass. Just pointing out my stupidity with mocking my sleeping problems)

300 win mag for home defense is a great way to accidentally shoot your neighbor through his house 3 doors down

Tell your genius manager to get some damn hollow tips unless he intends to have those bullets fly through the walls and hit his family members.

It never ceases to amuse me, as a non American, how many Americans seem to live with the belief that people are constantly preparing to rob you and murder you. Must not be healthy.
2
u/Candy-Colored_Clown May 03 '19
He doesn't actually have any guns, but he'll pelt the shit out of you with the bullets.
1
u/Rizzoblam May 03 '19
I believe this kind of attitude towards guns is what has caused the gun problem in America. People using and buying guns for attention. Guns need to treated like a specialized tool, not a novelty item to boast about. A rational person would never want a person to break into their house. It’s just downright ignorant.

1
u/SecondAmendmentLyfe May 03 '19
I mean, he's talking about the right to protect ourselves with fire arms, which I strongly believe in, but he's just using bullets (not even a gun) to ty to gain respect, or as headasses call it, 'clout'
1
u/SuppliceVI May 03 '19
How to get a premeditated murder charge 101.
Also how to get a homicide and negligent discharge charge as well, because 223 and 308 are going right through hia neighbor's fridge
1
u/Nice_Try_Mod May 03 '19
Robber: Thanks for letting me know you have guns. I'll now be sure to break in when your NOT home rather than do it at night while you are asleep. And even then, I'll just bring my own weapon and the element of surprise. All in all, should be a productive and fun afternoon.

.300 win mag is for whatever you chamber it for. Most cartridges aren't meant for use in only one firearm, and that particular round was invented earlier than the AWM was.

To add on to that, the AWM is usually chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, but they do make them in .300 Win Mag

I find a shotgun is more effective. You don’t have to aim as much and the pellets typically won’t go through the wall and hit someone sleeping. I have experience in this area and I know it will put a person down. In my case, he didn’t die but he lost all desire to continue. My dogs were on him as well. one was injured but recovered. I let the dogs have some fun while I checked to see if he was alone. His accomplices decided they didn’t want to stay and left him

Good luck slinging an AR, or any rifle for that matter, around the inside of your house
1
u/SpiritualCucumber May 04 '19
How long do you think a typical AR is?
1
May 04 '19 edited May 04 '19
Roughly 3 feet. Too long for an inexperienced douchebag to wield it in a hallway
1
May 03 '19
Sounds good. Since you've been nice enough to tell me what valuables are in your house (guns are expensive as fuck), I'll be happy to wait for you to go into work and then break in and take them

Next question: why do they look like really gimmicky lipstick applicators from a mid range makeup company?
1

I’m all for owning guns for self defense and sport but this shit pisses me off. It makes gun owners look like psychopaths who are just waiting for someone to break in so they can finally get a chance to kill someone. And most of the time when I see shit like this it’s usually someone who’s house would be the last to get robbed in the neighborhood. what are they gonna take Todd, your 60” CRTV you got in 2002 and your 10 year old Xbox 360?

I’ll take the .300 or the .40. The rifle he needs to fire the .300 is so impractically long that he won’t be able to aim at me to shoot.
The .40 barely hits harder than a 9x19, which has been noted to take 6 or 7 shots to actually immobilise a determined human. The .40 is also notorious for being an unreliable cartridge that frequently malfunctions in Glocks, one of their most numerous firers.
Now the 5.56, assuming he’s using a SCAR-L or an AUG, maybe even an AR-15, might actually be effective at taking down a home intruder, provided there’s more than 6 or 7 feet between you.
At the end of the day, most of these rounds are pretty damn ineffective at Self Defence work in the confines of a house, so I’ll take pretty much any of them.
