Depends if you can see going back to them again in the future if you don’t like your new job.

In my scenario, I gave a month long notice because I respected and still like my employer but I just couldn’t work nights anymore. They provided yearly bonuses and coincidentally I would be leaving a day after we would be getting bonuses. I assumed they would not provide my bonus given my departure but to my surprise they still honored it.

If you don’t like your current employer and you for sure can see yourself never going back to them, then you can quit without notice. I would also be weary of losing professional ties that can be beneficial in the future as well.

Thank you for your perspective! They are a good company and I respect them but since I’ve only been there a month I’m not sure if they would withhold my commissions if I resign before that

Read the fine print on your commissions paperwork. Many orgs will tell you that you need to be employed on the day they go out, if you expect to see your commissions. Be sure what your paperwork says and decide accordingly.

That’s what I’m thinking too. My offer letter doesn’t say anything about commissions so I want to be safe

Not your offer letter... There has to be some paperwork related to commissions. Employee handbook, or something. Trust me, they have documentation about the commissions somewhere -- and if they don't, that's super sketchy.

Yeah I agree. They might but the offer letter is all I really have and honestly it’s a pretty new startup so idk if they have anything like that. I feel like it’s best to just wait until after the commissions is paid and resign they day after. What do you think?
