I've always assumed that Vance was a closeted gay man with his buddy buddy relationship with Thiel.

I'm fairly confident he is. Vance strikes me the same way a closeted preacher/ pastor does.

I've always just thought his sexuality is flexible depending on what he's offered. He most certainly spent some wild nights with Thiel after he was "discovered" during his college days. He's definitely given that wrinkled pickle some thrills.
