The jail in my county provides inmates with tablets that have internet access. For every minute of educational app they use they get a minute of free internet time. Some sites are blocked, but I think reddit is available

As far as iPhone is concerned, Reddit is an “information and reading” app on the screen time recorder, not sure how android or prisons views Reddit though

My guess would be informant or flat out lying about being in jail. In rare situations, the DA might authorize an inmate some type of internet access hoping they communicate with certain people in "High stakes" investigations, but I doubt this is the case in this guy's situation. This isn't the 80's where inmates lived like kings behind bars, I imagine even high level criminals don't have that type of freedom and access.💀
