Tbh I agree just cause tj miller and Ryan Reynolds’s didn’t have good chemistry tj miller stated false rumors about him and Ryan, then Ryan had to come out and say there fine but anyway I think him and tj miller had something going on which we didn’t know about because Ryan Reynolds didn’t bring tj miller back for Deadpool 3 (idk if I’m correct just saw a new article) but yeah Peter is the freaking goat

Watching Elizabeth Olsen in Multiverse of Madness just deliver such a sassy terrifying performance. Every scene she's in she pretty much stole the focus. She gave a brilliant monologue above the Temple, was scary and threatening in her pursuit throughout the movie. Just shows how great an actor Lizzie is, she may not have been happy about the direction for Wanda but made sure she was gonna be the best thing about that movie.

The fact they were even talking about the prospect of becoming the successors to the original Big three (Iron Man, Cap and Thor) in this moment only makes it more sad.

So much has happened and changed in these past few years, it’s unreal. With Boseman’s death, COVID-19, the underperformance of The Marvels potentially affecting Larson’s future with the MCU, etc.

Discussion (More in Comments) Anyone else miss classic Thor?

Post image

I definitely don't disagree that Chris Hemsworth has really done a bang up job of bringing Thor to life on the big screen and evolving the character so well over the last 13 or so years. Hard to imagine anyone else taking his place now he's so synonymous with the role.

But for all that excellence over the years there's still a big part of me that wishes he still mostly spoke like he did in Thor 1 and the first Avengers film. He could still nail the comedy as was his comeback line to BW after the one in the picture.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Did Tony need to rest after being hit in the head by Hulk’s impact? And did Scott not want to be seen? This scene has made me laugh since I saw it, and now I’m just hella over analysing it. 😂

Discussion (More in Comments) It’s crazy how during the 6 years from 2014-2019, Sam made an appearance nearly every single year as Falcon, but since he became Captain America, in 6 years he’s only had 2 appearances.

You’d think once a character is put more front and center in such a significant role he’d show up more, but its crazy that we’ve only seen him twice, and one appearance was in a show. Something like AOU and Endgame those were basically cameos and such short scenes, at least now every appearance is more significant. Hopefully they just push out the character more

There's no question that the MCU's VFX have been struggling lately. It's not just the massive work loads placed on VFX artists, but the meddling and changing that reportedly happens right up to the release date.

On the other hand you have Dune. Not only are both entries wonderful films, but they look absolutely stunning. You believe these planets exist, you're immersed in their world and in turn, it gives the story more depth.

Villeneuve and co. had a clear vision and they stuck with it. They know what they wanted it to look and feel like and it really shows. Not only do VFX studios have more time thanks to this, but they as well gain that clear understanding of what any given shot should look like. It's amazing what can happen when you give artists time and space to simply be artists.

Now I understand Marvel works with a different and more vibrant signature color palette and that’s great. But why is it that Feige and co. are constantly switching things and changing them last minute? Not having a clear and stable vision seems to be seriously effecting their product from a visual standpoint. Marvel has way too much time and money to be rushing VFX. After Infinity War and Endgame there seems to be a quite large aesthetic drop off. There are some exceptions like The Eternals and I'm sure some others, but it’s taken me out of the story numerous times when something was clearly rushed or seemingly unfinished as a whole. I just really want the visually appealing side of the MCU to come back.

Shoutout to Dune for showing everyone just how well CGI and VFX in general can be done.

Maybe it’s because I’m a loud obnoxious idiot that managed to have an amazing daughter with an amazing partner that taught me who I really am (still obnoxious and loud, but also lovable and capable of love in a way I never thought I would be). Maybe it’s because I saw GoTG3 shortly after becoming a dad. Either way, when Nebula tells Drax he was never meant to be a destroyer, he was meant to be a dad, I absolutely lose it. Every time. I’m talking full on inconsolable snot bubble sobbing.

Anyone relate?

Yelena with long hair in a classic Black Widow suit and her iconic vest, Bucky reusing his FATWS look, a clean-shaven John Walker, Ghost in her white suit, Red Guardian in an updated black-and-red suit, and Taskmaster in a costume very similar to her Black Widow look.

I’m super hyped for the movie, but the costumes from the concept art just feel much more unique than what they ended up using for the film.

I think it could either be Spider-Man or Ms. Marvel I believe Spider-Man because Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has a six project deal so he could pop up at some point not saying he will but it’s a possibility. but Ms. Marvel is a option too because Kamala‘s dad is literally in the series so that could be a possibility that she will pop up, but what do you think?

Namor straight up says Mutants exist in Wakanda Forever and Doctor Strange has brainwashed the world before. Xavier meanwhile has kept all the mutants in his private school and keeps tabs of any other mutants born before the public knows.

Post image

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to be the only direct sequel in the Multiverse Saga to another project in the Multiverse Saga, aside from Avengers: Secret Wars, but that doesn't really count as it's a two-parter with Doomsday. We've had follow-ups with things like Captain America: Brave New World as one to The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, or Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness as a follow-up to WandaVision and (kind of) No Way Home. There have also been second seasons of shows like Loki, and the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again. But there have been no sequels, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the first and only sequel in the Multiverse Saga.

Personally me, I was 13 when Ray Stevenson's Punisher movie came out and immediately fell in love wit Billy Russo/Jigsaw. for Born Again hype, i watched most of the Defenders show and I loved every second that Billy was on screen! He's so charming, handsome, cold, sadistic. I love that this version of Billy Russo and Frank were friends and served in the military together too. In season 1 he is so soft-spoken, and that scream in s1 finale?! So terrifying. Ben Barnes, his actor, is such a treasure and I loved him in Shadow and Bone!

Discussion (More in Comments) Captain Marvel going forward

Post image
1.8k Upvotes

What does everyone think Marvel should do with Carol Danvers post-The Marvels? We heard from Bob Iger a while ago that Marvel had quietly cancelled some projects and would dial back on the number of sequels that gets green-lit. Some think this might have included a potential Captain Marvel 3. Which would be really unfortunate imo. Disney and Marvel have worked really hard to change the publics perception on female lead superhero movies in a positive way it would be odd to regress a lot of that progress made in a post-Perlmutter Marvel. Captain Marvel 3 could still be a viable option especially in the upcoming rumored Mutant Saga. CM3 could be used as an outlet to introduce Rogue. There's a few option there. I don't think they should just abandon Captain Marvel 3.

Discussion (More in Comments) ….this BP suit is objectively better???

Post image

I’m not even talking from a looks standpoint, thought I definitely feel that way about the aesthetics being the best too.

I’m talking about its pure utility in combat. I mean sure, it didn’t have the ability to disperse its absorbed kinetic energy, but at the same time didn’t come with the weakness of possibly being overloaded or rendered out of order because of those hyper sonic effects from when T’Challa and Killmonger fought. It just did its damn job , no fuss or business about it. I guess the only downside is that he has to go out of his way to put it on?

Though if Spider-Man is any gauge , keeping a costume on under normal clothes can’t be that bad right? And it’s not like he (and Shuri going forward) have anything to hide particularly right? I don’t think they feel the need to be shy about being foreign diplomats or to hide the fact they’re royalty. Sooo….??

Discussion (More in Comments) The MCU’s biggest mistake with What If? Was giving it a connecting narrative.

2.4k Upvotes

What If? Should have only ever been an anthology series which legitimately posits the question “what if?”.

The moment they decided to give a connecting narrative for the show (albeit a loose one) they tie themselves down to committing to a kind of conclusion.

What if is (and still should be) a concept that can be a Disney+ mainstay for literal decades with new episodes being easy to dream up. You can literally have unique tones each episode, and they in themselves could be a kind of event (say a 60 minute episode positing the question “What if Thanos won?”)

Where Thanos is truly forced to reckon with his actions in creating a new universe (threatened during the final endgame showdown), but it delves quite deep into how Thanos would actually feel being viewed as a God-like figure and how a universe of plenty also brings new challenges and demands for Thanos and his family.

If they ever revive the show in years to come, I’d really like to see it fully embrace the anthology nature of the concept and not try giving it an overarching narrative again.
