Because even on a relatively average income for my country, the prices are still affordable to me and will provide more entertainment per hour than most forms of entertainment?
I am comfortable spending money on luxury goods at a rate that I can afford and is worth the expense to me, yes. People will spend $50,000 on a car, but an extra $20 on a game is too much to bear?
If you don’t like the price or can’t afford it, vote with your wallet and don’t buy it.
Who is spending 50k on a car? Let's not start strawmanning because you're argument is basically "fuck you got mine". Like I get you're selfish and don't care and that's fine, but it's also important to point out other countries pay gross markups on their games or otherwise make so little money that this price increase is far more than just "an extra 20" Like if you're an Australian gamer you're fucked but I guess they should just accept the price increase because chuckleheads like you can afford it?
I am Australian. Plenty of people are spending $50k on a car, because I see plenty of cars worth that much on the road.
The Switch works out cheaper than the US based on exchange rates. Games too, by $10. Games used to be $110 here back when the PS2 was popular, Switch games are either $110 or $120 now. Know what the difference might be? The tariffs that Americans so wisely voted for.
So no, I’m not being taken advantage of like you suggest. I don’t know the situation in other countries, but you said I specifically were being taken advantage of.
My argument is, no I am not. The prices I am paying are reasonable.

Not everyone is you.
