Overdone AITA for parking right in front of the Lexus taking up two spots?

Post image

I went to a shopping centre in the morning, right when the shops have not opened to the public yet. I was behind the Bentley when they parked at the spot behind the Lexus. The last spot in the area to park was right in front of the Lexus, but they took two spots. They had so much room to park. So I parked as close as I could without touching the Lexus. I know this isn’t the AITA page, but am I valid for being at least mildly infuriated people have the audacity to take up two spots?

(PS: The way I parked is centred in between two lines. So I made sure not to obstruct the parking space in front of me)

I should add the owner of the Lexus showed up when I left, she went on a rant of how I was a dickhead. Keep in mind when I came here, there was no one obstructing the Lexus. My friend works at security for the shopping centre and he confirmed she just parked like that…

Did you at least tell her that she parks like an asshole?

28

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

Not just me, two bystanders just yelled at her to “shut the fuck up” while she was yelling at me for being a dickhead

Sounds like they are entitled and should park better

Don't worry about overpriced toyota lady. She's just angry her brain can't think past her own nose.

Heh. Good one

The l on a Lexus stands for a Loser that bought an overpriced Camry

I think a stern "learn how to park fuck face" would hopefully cause her to reevaluate her position here. NTA

u/KaldaraFox 16d ago

I think a playful and upbeat, "Learn how park, f*ck-face" would be more effective.

Lol, you're probably right. It's all in the delivery.

They have space to back up

22

u/PinkyLeopard2922 22d ago

Exactly. Your car fit and she still had PLENTY of space to back out. The audacity of this bitch to fuss at OP.

25

u/kholto 22d ago

The real concern is if you will be able to get out if someone parks right in front of you.

19

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

Maybe if the lady called over her partner to park a car in front of me, that would be a concern. Otherwise, any car parking in front of me to a point where I cannot get out would be taking up two spaces. I’m not sure if you can see the distance between the back of my car and the parking line, but it’s the same distance between the front of my car to the other line. The car in the parking spot in front of me has a long car so their car is near the parking line. I did my part in not repeating the cycle of bad parking!

(I’m not grilling you at all, just explaining myself!)

In my original description, I stated I came in same time as that Bentley in the back of the pic. As a response to a few people because I forgot to mention this, my friend works for security and he saw the footage where the Lexus parked like that, no one in front or behind them!

This happened a while ago and I posted this when (a) I had all my facts straight and (b) when I randomly stumbled upon this in my photo album just a few hours ago

NTA. I have done the same in the past and will repeat. The Lexus driver is the A.

u/Bobd1964 22d ago

NTA. Lexus needs to learn the hard way that they have to follow the same rules as everyone body else, otherwise we are no longer in a civil society.

I think you are allotting way too much emotional investment into this.

I get it is annoying, and you parked in front of the clown, amd they were wrongfully pissed at you.

But fuck them.

Don't put effort into this shit, it makes life miserable.

I know from experience.

1

u/I-Love-Tatertots 22d ago

Eh - I disagree that it makes life miserable.

These people make life miserable with their selfish actions.

The time I take to fuck with them and get back to them brings me endless joy. Especially when I get to see their reaction, it makes it 10x better.

I can see that first point, I’ll tell you my motivation for uploading this today:

This incident happened a few weeks ago so I had ample time to make sure all my facts are straight. I found out a few days afterwards from my friend that the CCTV shows they had no one around them. Also I stumbled upon this photo in my camera roll this morning and decided to post it. I have the weekends off for work and I’m sick, so I’m able to respond to a lot of people right now!

I don’t need to take any further action. I just wanted to make sure I’m not the “dickhead” the lexus driver claims I am for parking within my lines

Crz ftw!

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

HAHAHA, the only downside to owning one of these is that any search engine or person I talk over the phone thinks it’s a CR-V… (oh and blind spots, it’s terrible)

ESH. Lexus is over the line, but not by a lot. Those spaces look very long, btw. You chose to be aggressive; you could have parked a bit forward and still be within your designated space. Your car is short, and you give off a vibe of superiority for driving a responsible car and not a large luxury sedan. Next time you might get keyed (not justifying it) for inviting a fight.

2

u/KingDerpie 21d ago

Crz's are meant to squeeze in, I do it all the time if I see that

2

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 21d ago

If I had another award, you’d get one too! Someone gets it haha

You're a hero in my book.

You are the hero we all need.

Well played

2

u/Cmcgill344 22d ago

No, fuck ‘em.

2

u/Similar_Cranberry_23 22d ago

This is petty! I’d do the same thing lol

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

I am petty, but I’ll make sure I’m not harming the offender or disturbing anyone else. Call it malicious compliance ;)

1

u/Character-Plantain-2 22d ago

You are a hero.

1

u/speedy_19 22d ago

There is a good chance someone parked poorly before the Lexus came, I have parked very shitty before because people around me are terribly, and there are no other convenient parking spots

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

Here, read what I said and read some of the top replies here. I made sure to clear those possibilities

1

u/mousserun 22d ago

Be carefull with these situations as you never know how it developed up to this situation, maybe it wa not even his fault.

1

u/DansDrives 22d ago

I do this with my truck all the time. It’s a large truck so I’m very careful to only be in my space and always park in the lines. I love the terror of drivers who are scared to death my hitch slider is 1/2” from their bumper because they can’t figure out how lines work.

1

u/[deleted] 22d ago

There could have been another car that forced the Lexus to park the way you found it.

1

u/jrdiver 22d ago

Break out the ol coloring book page so they can practice staying in the lines.

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

business major type beat

1

u/miselfi3 22d ago

I 100% understand the reasoning, but I wouldn't risk my paint job. People who park like this with no regard for others will give you a dent or two if they feel like it.

1

u/apachelives 21d ago

You never know, the dude may have pulled into the park that way because some other asshole parked poorly first. Either way they have space so its fine provided someone else does not park them in.

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 21d ago

I made sure to cover that! I’m not sure how replies are sorted but read the response to the top comment, it’ll explain more :)

1

u/quixiou 21d ago

No, not hard to park in the lines. Fuck the Lexus

1

u/obnoxus 22d ago

yes you are

1

u/Underwater_Karma 22d ago

No, he's got plenty of room to back up and leave.

1

u/rain168 22d ago

If yours is the red car, I don’t see a problem. The darker car has plenty of room to reverse and leave.

1

u/kooolbee 22d ago

When I had a shitty car, I loved doing shit like this. (Not saying you have a shitty car) would park as close as possible to assholes and their nice cars, etc. it was a fun time.

1

u/masterofn0n3 22d ago

I would have tried to get even closer. Fuck him.

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

I would, but I don’t want any reason for them to call insurance because sometimes even a tap is enough reason to come at me. I did my best to do this without physically touching her car with my car or my body

1

u/EarlyBirdWithAWorm 22d ago

Nope. He can reverse out and exit like any other parallel parked car. All you did was occupy an available parking space. If he parked over the line and doesn't like how close your car is to his that's his problem. Not yours

1

u/MurkyTrainer7953 22d ago

Had the cars touched, “AITA” is also valid and debatable question. (Also, unless there’s cameras, G/L Lexus driver proving they didn’t crash into the other car)

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

The cars did not touch, I do have a rear view camera to help with that! Also I forgot to put this in the original so I made multiple responses, but I have a friend who works with security and they confirmed the Lexus had no one around them when they parked!

Also I don’t expect you to look at all these responses btw!

1

u/Jacktheforkie 22d ago

No, there’s miles of room that they can use to leave

1

u/RevolutionaryUse2416 22d ago

I look at it like this…he’s parked in your spot. Clearly….

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 16d ago

I just had to ask because in my opinion, this is some crazy parking. This happened a few weeks ago and the people passing by seemed to just stare, some told me I did good parking my red car like that. Of course the lady of the Lexus had an issue with my parking and called me a “dickhead” and that I could’ve parked further forward…

but if I did, essentially park on the edge of my spot, and leave myself vulnerable to being the “asshole” parker instead after she leaves

1

u/OON7 22d ago

She will tell all her friends on FB about some asshole driving a Honda parking inches away from her.

Of course you are NTA.

2

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

Oh no, a bunch of Gen X and boomers on FB thinking that I, part of Gen-Z, is the problem to this society… what do I ever do? (insert frowny face here)

1

u/[deleted] 22d ago

You're good

1

u/Nearby_Ad_9599 22d ago

Perhaps a dickmove by myself but I could have done the same without shame.

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

I’d say petty, but I did prevent myself from repeating the “bad parking” cycle to the parking spot in front of me

-3

u/Rough_Text_1023 22d ago

Depends if this is outside some sort of emergency facility, like an ambulance paramedic that had to just hop out and get in ambulance quick. If that’s not the case, NTA.

3

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

I get that and good point. This is just an outdoor shopping centre and I did clarify when I arrived, no one was in front or behind the Lexus. And as a bonus my friend who works with security reviewed the footage and the Lexus just parked like that, no one in front ot behind them. And here’s another thing that no one has brought up yet, but is she elderly or a teenager? No, she seems to be middle aged. Hopefully this adds more context!

-1

u/Rough_Text_1023 22d ago

I should have realized they’d also have some sort of first responders plate if that was the case. Thanks for additional information.

0

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

You’re okay, I appreciate that perspective and I don’t expect you to side or understand with me fully! I did give the benefit of the doubt that she did not have room, or was a beginner (teen) or elderly driver hence why I posted this like a few weeks after it happened and I randomly stumbled on this in my photos haha.

Also here’s a pic of her license plate. I’m blocking out the letters but nothing else is indicative of a first responder, disabled, or any other special dispensation:

1

u/innocuous4133 22d ago

I see the problem. She’s from Ohio.

1

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

If I had awards to give out, you’d receive one HAHA

-9

u/SnooDoodles2957 22d ago

Always keep in mind that maybe he had no choice to park that way if the person behind him was parked bad first. Probably not but maybe.

4

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

For sure I always keep that in mind. But in the original description, I stated that I drove behind the Bentley that’s in the picture. There was no one in front or Behind the Lexus. And in a reply to another person (I did not expect you to see this detail btw) I mentioned my friend works for security for the whole shopping centre. I gave him the date and time, and he saw the Lexus had no one around them when she parked like that! Hopefully that clears stuff up

-7

u/SnooDoodles2957 22d ago

Were you absolutely forced to park so close though? She probably thought you hit her car.

6

u/Ambitious_Cover_3343 22d ago

I parked next to her car because if I gave her “ample” space, would be parked against the front line of my space and possibly intruding in another space. The way I parked made me centred in between both lines. Also just a quick check in the front shows I did not hit or tap her car

2

u/VindictiveNostalgia Woah! A flair! 22d ago

Were you absolutely forced to ask that question though?

0

u/theOriginalDrCos I myself am mildly infuriating 22d ago

OMG, if the owner of the toyota (with an L) came up to leave and started barking at me, I would have gotten back in my car, waited for her to back up, and then back up right in front of her.
