A few months after I had started driving I got T Boned by someone in a pickup truck. I was in a 2006 Camaro. Fortunately it wasn't a high speed impact. I was still young and hot headed. After the impact, I got out of my car screaming at the top of my lungs just furious and getting ready to rip this person a new one. Upon getting it this person's truck I see that it's a very elderly man. I felt absolutely terrible. His excuse for running the stop sign was because he was hungry and just wanted breakfast.
I lied. It was 01 then. I just couldn't remember exactly what year it was. Hell, maybe even could have been a 2000. I just remember it was my first manual transmission car.
I was in a car once that stopped in a parking lot bc a car very slowly pulled out in front of us. The driver was so old he looked like a corpse. He hit a car angling to get in the incoming lane, then pulled forward and hit us. The driver was having a "wtf do I do" moment bc it was seriously a 2mph collision. So I got out and checked for damage and as I was doing that he just very slowly pulled around (no look of recognition of anything that happened on his face) and turned the wrong way onto a 40mph, divided road. Off he went, to his next adventure.
Or flatout stupid. Some guy i went to school with managed to ride his bike into a parked truck. I believe semitrailer truck is the correct wording for the really big ones?
I mean their ear should still be working even if they were looking at their phone lol
those blaring siren gotta at least made you pay you attention back to the road, just bad driver I concur.
They were going too fast and didn’t notice they had nowhere to go once the other cars pulled over. Either they panicked or they were not paying attention but I don’t know how you miss those sirens when they’re that close.
That is NOT too fast to stop in time. It may be too fast for their distracted driving or drunk nonresponsive legs. They could have stopped in 3 seconds Easily leaving space for the cruiser to move around them
Six seconds is a lot of time.... Count out 6 full seconds on a clock ... If your reaction to something is more than one full second, you have severe cognitive issues.
