I think he means 4 halfs, not 4 and a half

That math ain’t mathin

7

u/Newhollow 1d ago

10+9=21

225+225=550

I love how at first glance it looks 100% correct

Skibbidy bap watch me watch me watch me

That's okay. My mom says I wasn't very good at math as a kid. In fact, if I had a nickel for every time someone said my math was bad I'd have $2.97.

u/Nevermore_Novelist 23h ago

Well, ya gotta factor in interest rates. Oh, and taxes!

45

u/grantnel2002 1d ago

I’d say that’s two spots, but still douchey

22

u/HighOnGoofballs 1d ago

2 & 1/4

5

u/HallowHowl 1d ago

2 & 1/14

17

u/TJones2219 1d ago

If we're doing fractions then he only took 1 spot

22

u/ForsakenSun6004 1d ago

4 spots is a stretch, but where’s the 1/2 you’re talking about??

1

u/Peter_Lemonjell0 1d ago edited 1d ago

the bumper extends to the spaces behind him, ( however if he parked where bumper was within the front spaces his truck would stick out too far and impede the driving space in the parking lot.)

He should have parked towards the back of the lot on the end of a row, as not to block other spaces.

Or he could have parked in the space across to the right of his truck let his bumper hand out over shrub space. he could easily fit there and not impede the parking lot. He is just being a jackass parking the way he did.

7

u/KBHoleN1 1d ago

So he's parked in 2 spaces, and the bumper takes up part of 2 spaces. That's 4 total. Where is the half?

6

u/Leonydas13 1d ago

He’s taking up four half spots is what they’re saying.

3

u/structural_nole2015 1d ago

Who the fuck says "four half spots" instead of "two spots?"

4 * 0.5 = 2

5

u/GregNotGregtech 1d ago

Because it takes up parts of 4 parking spaces. You can't just combine the spaces lost in each parking spot into 2 parking spot worth of space. You can't park your car behind and next to the car

1

u/Leonydas13 1d ago

A normal person describing what’s happened here? Took me about five or ten seconds to figure out what they meant. The only confusing part is that they wrote it as “4 1/2 spots” instead of “four half spots”

2

u/Peter_Lemonjell0 1d ago

well by occupying fractions of 4 separate spaces, those parking spaces have less room for other vehicles. sure smaller cars can fit in the spaces behind his truck but why should they have to park in a way that their vehicle sticks out of the designated space.

1

u/LifeLikeAGrapefruit 1d ago

I don't care. The guy is an asshole, so I wouldn't even defend him if OP claimed he was taking 6 spots.

18

u/EastContest6263 1d ago

2 1/4. Where tf you see 4 1/2?

10

u/NCOMPAQ77 1d ago

I think they’re saying four spots that are halves. So four half spots

2

u/TooBuffForThisWorld 1d ago

Where the fraction coming from? 18 inches over the middle line for a tailgate hangover isn't too bad all things considered; small car + big car

3

u/Audiosamigos8307 1d ago

Math ain't mathin here.

3

u/Remote-Direction963 1d ago

Sorry, your math is wrong. Nevertheless, i don't understand people like this sometimes.

3

u/JumpTheChark 1d ago

There used to be a time when the guys with the over sized work trucks at hotels would park at the far end of the parking lot, knowing they were taking up space and doing their best to inconvenience the least number of people.

3

u/hentairedz 1d ago

Idk if I'm more mildly infuriated by his parking or this title

2

u/NCOMPAQ77 1d ago

I think they’re saying four spots that are halves. So four half spots

2

u/NCOMPAQ77 1d ago

I think they’re saying four spots that are halves. So four half spots

u/Illustrious-Ad1949 1d ago

He doesn't know how to drive his truck, and is afraid of hitting someone

2

u/andrey_not_the_goat 1d ago edited 1d ago

The inability to park a vehicle that has a rear camera has always baffled me...

Edit: Rear not real.

2

u/Peter_Lemonjell0 1d ago

He should have parked at the end of a row if his big truck couln't properly fit in marked spaces. This is a main character jackass move.

2

u/driven_user 1d ago

Could the previous cars have been parked so shit this was the only option?

That's dumb. And many lots have surveillance. Dumb for many reasons.

1

u/VirtualAdagio4087 1d ago

Not as dumb as parking like this

2

u/shhikshoka 1d ago

It’s way dumber if they hebe cameras

1

u/VirtualAdagio4087 1d ago

I don't disagree, but I haven't been in any trouble yet. I look forward to doing it more in the years to come as people are becoming bigger and bigger assholes.

0

u/shhikshoka 1d ago

In this scenario tho he might be considerate if you assume the absolute best of people let’s assume he got the truck for his job and needs it and then it’s too wide for one parking spot so parking normally would take three spots not two even tho he did park way too back there so he’s prolly just an asshole but life is sunshine and rainbows when you assume the best

1

u/VirtualAdagio4087 1d ago

That's not even a big truck. It fits in one space just fine. He might not be an asshole, but this was an asshole decision he made and I feel no guilt keying it.

1

u/shhikshoka 1d ago

Man I just looked at my comment I just woke up like two minutes ago I don’t even remember commenting that hullshit

2

u/Bardmedicine 1d ago

Mildly infuriating math

2

u/daddys_plant_boy 1d ago

That big 🍆 energy 🤣🤣🤣

2

u/HarmadeusZex 1d ago

Because people park very close to your car. And stop asking the same silly question because its always the same answer.

2

u/itsakevinly_329 1d ago

You’re being pretty generous with that 1/2 my guy.

2

u/doom_pony 1d ago

I spent way too much time trying to count 4.5 spots and should have just went to the comments.

2

u/spencer1886 1d ago

Guess nobody taught OP how to count

8

u/SpeedyBoy-v20 1d ago

Small pp

1

u/TheDarkLordScaryman 1d ago

Truck owner would probably justify it as reventing anyone from parking close enough to ding the side if they slam open their own doors without checking for clearance, which doesn't matter because you....... still can't take up that many spaces because you feel you deserve special treatment

-1

u/TooBuffForThisWorld 1d ago

Tbf there's a smaller PP ford out of view

3

u/Too-Uncreative 1d ago

That’s managed to occupy a single spot…

0

u/TooBuffForThisWorld 1d ago

That's fine, that's why ram did that cause ford took his balls off being 4 inches higher

2

u/dongporn No not like that 1d ago

If it’s been there three days parked like that call whoever owns the parking lot and tell them there’s a little ol’ truck that needs towing

2

u/phil_gal 1d ago

big horn, small brain

2

u/Just_Here_So_Briefly 1d ago

When you have over inflated tires, it's hard to maneuver a vehicle between lines, help a brother out and fix the air in his tires.

1

u/LifeLikeAGrapefruit 1d ago

"Your Honor, I was merely admiring his parking job, and how he managed to take up four spots with just one car, and then I guess I slipped and my pocket knife fell out, and that's how I totally accidentally and unintentionally slashed all four of his tires... five times."

"Not guilty!"

2

u/Gloomy_Zebra_ 1d ago

What is it about Rams? I swear, if there's an aggressive ass on the road, it's always a Ram.

1

u/Meisteronious 1d ago

Followed by a Chevy followed by a Ford… The left lane is just a pissing match to see who can burn gasoline the fastest.

2

u/YourPantryPal 1d ago

Drop kick the side of it

4

u/Rumham_Toeknife 1d ago

6

u/GTor93 1d ago

Yeah, 4 I see, but where's the extra half?

1

u/Nervous-Situation-18 1d ago

I came to say the same thing because I did the math and can confirm it is impeding 4 spaces.

2

u/tatumwaffles 1d ago

I think op meant 4 halves?

5

u/StopSerious1353 1d ago

Looks to be a long car and the spots look thin so maybe he needs room to get in and out and also if he was more forward I think that’s more dangerous if he was further out in front

4

u/pepper_tuna 1d ago

you can see a truck on the right of the photo that's parked squarely in the parking spot. it's either an f150 or super duty, which is definitely bigger than the truck taking up 4 spaces. this guy is a chud muffin.

1

u/StopSerious1353 1d ago

The one on the right does look bigger but you can also see he is further forward maybe extending out I was thinking the parking in the middle maybe he is big guy or woman who need extra room to get in and out without harming cars who park next to them I also think most parking spots aren’t designed for the big cars

6

u/WienerBabo 1d ago

Too big for the spot => can't park there mate. Simple as that.

2

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

0

u/pepper_tuna 1d ago

don't get a vehicle that's too big for standard parking spots then. simple as.

The world doesn’t revolve around you just because you CHOSE to buy a bigger than normal sized vehicle, and then complain about parking/inconvenience others.

It’s not about telling others what to do; it’s about having common sense. Which, you clearly lack.

1

u/Alyycakes 1d ago

Doesn’t matter. It’s the principle. But, I can see from your bio that you’re a conservative, which…explains your thought process a lot; being self centered and all that.

2

u/shhikshoka 1d ago

What if they got it for work and it’s too wide to the point if they parked normally they’d take three parking perhaps they’re behind considerate why are you so triggered about it

0

u/WienerBabo 1d ago

Let me just park my helicopter at this hotel. Not my fault they don't have helicopter parking.

1

u/Hodgeman19 1d ago

Agreed. It’s their fault for buying that big ass vehicle

4

u/Party-Evening3273 1d ago

That isn’t even a big truck. It doesn’t even have an 8 foot bed. That person probably just bought the truck and doesn’t want anyone to door ding it.

I have a full size truck with an 8 foot bed and I always park further out from the store and take a short walk. No biggie.

1

u/LifeLikeAGrapefruit 1d ago

Don't you defend that monster.

1

u/EinLsaneM 1d ago

Don’t dodge it, ram it

1

u/St-Quivox 1d ago

to be fair. there's a small chance that if he parked in the center of a spot it would overlap with both neighboring spots. Then it's better to just take 2 spots maybe

1

u/jwclair 1d ago

At least it doesn't have a led light bar on the back, commonplace here in Massachusetts

1

u/Sure_Fly_6904 1d ago

It’s a ram driver, what do you expect?

1

u/RBI_Double 1d ago

Oregon plates, no plate covers, in Virginia? That there’s a rental

1

u/v270 1d ago

Dodge ram, so assume DWI.

1

u/arochains1231 PURPLE 1d ago

Of course it's an Oregonian, we can't drive much less park.

1

u/BroncoJunky 1d ago

I have a full-size pickup, and yes ,I've come across some rather small parking spaces, but if you can't park in the lines, your truck is too big for you. The same goes for if you can't keep it in your lane.

1

u/ThisGuySaysALot 1d ago

Meanwhile, dude in the much nicer Raptor tries to keep it in one spot.

If you can’t park between the lines, don’t park in the prime spots. Go to the edge and save the near spots for regular folks.

1

u/CLEHts216 1d ago

Pink chalk on parking spaces, in girly cursive, “Princess parking only” bonus if you can draw a Tiera too.

1

u/LazyNeighborhood7287 1d ago

I think the second word in the title pretty much sums it up.

1

u/pitterlpatter 1d ago

On a completely separate topic...did you know mustard eats through the paint on cars?

1

u/FreedomPretty6893 1d ago

Because he’s compensating for lack of size

1

u/Altruistic_Coast4777 1d ago

Because she can

1

u/Leonydas13 1d ago

OP, just for clarity’s sake the correct way to write this would’ve been “four half spots”.

4 1/2 reads as four and a half.

1

u/sevnminabs56 RED 1d ago

I think you mean 2 spots and some minor overhang into 2 other spots. But yea, that's frustrating. At least there's several other spots to park. I've been in a situation where the parking lot was small and packed, and some a-hole parked like this. So I had to park down the street in another parking lot.

1

u/Ravencyco 1d ago

I think I just made a mistake and meant 2 1/3.

2

u/revengeappendage 1d ago

Even more infuriating is OP’s inability to count and/or understand fractions.

4

u/makochi 1d ago

someone else in this thread mentioned they think OP meant the truck is occupying [four] [half-spots], that is, half of four different spots

0

u/RedHeadRedeemed 1d ago

Honestly, this might be him trying to be considerate. Some of those really wide trucks make using a normal parking spot difficult because while they can fit they barely do, and often parking next to them puts your car at risk for either getting hit by their door if they open it or hitting their truck when you open your door. I'd rather him just take the two spots and have enough room so that if I park next to him I don't feel squished

1

u/The-Mythical-Phoenix 1d ago

Okay that actually makes a lot of sense.

This is why I don’t like judging before knowing.

1

u/PuzzleheadedGoal2007 1d ago

That’s only 2🤷‍♀️

1

u/unsmartkid 1d ago

You can see the bed of a Ford super duty on the right, seems to be quite square with its single spot being taken up.

1

u/HanSchlomo 1d ago

They were in a hurry to get home and give daddy a kiss on the mouth.

1

u/ThePlasticSpastic 1d ago

Valve stem tool. 1/2 turn.

1

u/maitre_lld 1d ago

This thread explains very nicely why the American notation "n p/q" for n+p/q is absolutely stupid. Especially since it is also commonly accepted that ab means a*b.

1

u/thisisfunone 1d ago

Because you allow it.

2

u/cncaudata 1d ago

I miss driving old beat up cars for this reason. Looks to me like the community should really get behind this guy's avant-garde style and park using the halves of spots he so kindly left available right next to his truck.

1

u/Sea-Coyote2680 1d ago

probably one of those MAGA nuts who take as much as they want, but scream about how everything is unfair.

1

u/eat_your_veggiez 1d ago

Park as close to the driver’s side door as possible.

1

u/AurumEra 1d ago

0

u/BooCreepyFootDr 1d ago

Why would they do that? Even if it gets a scratch or dent, that’s not as bad as being a Ram.

-2

u/SlowHornet29 1d ago

Don’t worry, it’s a dodge, it will break down on the side of the road soon enough

2

u/Hodgeman19 1d ago

It’s been there three days… I think that’s where it broke down😂

2

u/SlowHornet29 1d ago

That’s a good possibility, died and it rolled to that spot, as close as they could get it to a single parking spot.

1

u/Hodgeman19 1d ago

As far as a dodge driver is concerned, that’s conservative parking

0

u/Dramatic-Bank-2752 1d ago

Because he's never faced consequences for it, try not to trip into his tire while holding a knife. That could be bad for him

0

u/j_lee1958 1d ago

cause they drive a truck, are you honestly surprised? a truck that can't haul shit.

0
