It’s the content that’s costing them money. More content would lose them more money. The issue is marketshare. Coming in late to the game ain’t easy.

While true, the only way to increase market share would be to pump out enough stuff to keep people signed up all year while also getting more to sign up. It's all tied together. They only get me signed up for a couple months a year because I realized there can be stretches of months without something I actually really want to watch. So I instead I sign up for a month every so often and watch whatever backlog of things I've missed that actually interest me.

This the Netflix quantity versus quality approach. I would love to say it doesn’t work but people watch shows like ”Night Agent” and “Emily in Paris”. I really don’t know why, and I don’t think Netflix does either. They have so many subscribers paying so much per month, they can throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. Other streamers don’t have that luxury.

They need to fix their Apple TV app. It’s confusing. Like, you sign up for Apple TV+ but it only opens up a section of the Apple TV app. I get that they want to have all their movies and tv shows in one space but having both purchasable content and included content in one app is not a good way to do it. Amazon Prime suffers from the same problem. You and me may understand what is what but your average consumer probably gets pretty irritated with it. “I pay 10 bucks a month and I have to pay to watch White Chicks!?!?”

I agree 100% with this. Apple wants you to make the Apple TV app your hub for all media. It’s the same with Amazon and their shitty app.

Right they're already sitting on top of a ton of finished but unreleased content, likely to strategically release and keep their steady viewership gains.

It’s hard to unsubscribe from Apple TV+ because just as soon as a “Slow Horses” ends, a “Shrinking” begins.
