He never struck me as a scammer (not deliberately, anyway), just someone who is absolutely obsessed with the sound of his voice, and is articulate enough to convince others that what he says is Deeeep, Bro!, even though there isn't much substance to it. I never understood the obsession. There was something, idk, greasy about his personality? To borrow a ladies' expression: he always gave me the ick.

Nah, he was always a scamming piece of shit. He just changed what his scam was and who it targeted.
