Very Saul Bass and 1960s inspired, I like it.

That’s really terrific.

No, Mr. Terrific is the genius superhero from the other July 2025 comic book movie.

u/davetoxik 21h ago
Who starred in a DC comic called the Terrifics… which was sort of an homage to the Fantastic Four. :)

I think it would be funny if this turns out like Wonder Woman 1984 with those cool posters but then the film, imo.

u/MeteorSwarmGallifrey 21h ago
I'm just glad they didn't go with the classic style of everyone on the poster looking stoic and off into the distance.
It's nifty - now I'm just hoping they release a trailer today as well!

u/Pretorian24 21h ago
The first teaser posters are often more creative. Floating heads sell more tickets so that is next.

u/ConfidentPeanut18 21h ago
Ohh boy just wait for it. Maybe 1 month b4 the film's release they'll release another poster.
It will show the floating heads with Galactus' big head at the back.

Pretty sure we'll get the good old floating heads poster closer to release date
12
u/cowpool20 21h ago
Just wait, we'll probably get one of those closer to release. Just like they've just done with Thunderbolts 😅

u/mistergingerbread 20h ago
It’s called a payoff and it’s a traditional part of the campaign. There’s a reason every film does it

Some variation of this comment is on every teaser poster, before the standard posters start coming in.

Published at 4PM. They know what they're doing.

Well, if they REALLY knew, the movie would have been produced in order to have a 2024 release ! ^ ^

Reminiscent of art deco artwork or science fiction posters from the 60s and 70s. It's not bad. I hope the movie doesn't disappoint.

u/AgentP20 21h ago edited 21h ago
Makes sense since the movie takes place in the 60s.
12
u/PayneTrain181999 21h ago
Alternate universe futuristic 60s, to be precise.

I think the term would be atomic retro, space age, or mid century. It's not deco, that's decades earlier.
I also see some googie inspo

makes me think of a book cover you’d see in your grade school library in the 90’s. Paperback cover with wear on the binding, corners are a little bent, and it gives off that “old building” smell when you flip through the pages

u/PlusSizeRussianModel 11h ago
Art deco was out of style by the 60s. It’s more associated with the 20s and 30s.

u/Allansfirebird 11h ago
I like the Marvel logo's nod to Cinerama, though that was actually created in the 50s.

I love everything about this, and to the designer that made this - fuck you, it's so good.

It’s different for sure. Not even a big fan of Marvel but interested in seeing this movie.

I have no idea if this is gonna flop or not but the aesthetic and marketing look so dope

u/SimianWriter 14h ago
This is starting to feel like a live action Venture Brothers. Super Science!
5
u/Rocky_Vigoda 13h ago
Go team Venture.
They should have hired JG Thirlwell to do the soundtrack.
Also, whoever made this, this is awesome.
2
u/SimianWriter 10h ago
I'd watch the hell out of that. Reminds me of Flash Gordon with the Queen soundtrack.

I like the poster, don't really like the title. Makes me think of babies
3
u/vince2423 20h ago
Supposedly it’s going to be centered around Franklin Richard’s so that would fit
9
u/cgknight1 21h ago
that's a banger - most Marvel posters are instantly forgettable.
8
u/PayneTrain181999 21h ago
The teaser posters are usually very good, theatrical posters are contractually required to have actors’ faces for marketing purposes, leading to forgettable floating heads.

u/ToonMasterRace 20h ago
Member when posters were high effort and hand drawn rather than this Apple Store slop. Compare the Star Wars OT posters to this

Looking forward to seeing how they botch this 3rd (4th?) attempt at a Fantastic 4 franchise.

Maybe its still me being stuck in the timeline/multiverse storyline - but there's a lot of suggestion that there are probably going to be other variants of the FF.

u/WolfgangIsHot 17h ago
Retro vibe keep going, loving it.
Feels very different from the rest of the mcu. THAT is the ace in its sleeve.
Reminds me the opening of Charlie's Angels tv series !

I have seen like a dozen posters for this movie and it seems like the only thing people are hyped about

u/Traditional_Cat_60 12h ago
Is there an actual trailer for this movie? I’ve only gotten AI bullshit when I’ve tried to find it.

u/Burning_Flags 12h ago
Don’t they know they are suppose to make a poster where there are 4 floating heads and the bad guy is also a floating head, and then some smaller characters are actually smaller floating heads?
1
u/Specialist-Chard-234 11h ago
Poster kinda makes me feel dizzy, like my eyes dont quite know what to focus on, so not a fan of this one, sadly.

Dr. Doom should be the villain of the Marvel Universe for the next decade, not a movie or two.
He can be the enemy of all the magic world, the political world and the superhuman world.
Have him showing up to fight Wanda and Dr. Strange, have him showing up to fight Spiderman and the FF, have the first team up between X Men, The Avengers, the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man be against Dr. Doom.
I want more comic booky shit, not half assed scared to do anything movie studio stuff.

July 25 ?!?
Not once has a Fantastic 4 film been released on July 4th. The Tim Story version came close with its July 8 release date.

Seems like Marvel is doing extra marketing for this movie in particular.
Will be crazy if it's just another mid to bad movie like most of MCU these days lol

I have no interest in The fantastic four but that is a cool ass poster I would put up.

Way cooler than the AI Slop posters they did before.
9
u/AgentP20 21h ago
It was confirmed to be not AI. Just horribly Photoshopped.
2
u/TheAquamen 19h ago
It wasn't even horrible. One guy holding a flag had a finger that wasn't visible, making it look like it was missing, and two women close together in the background looked alike, making them look copied. The real thing that set off everyone's AI detectors was the attempt to make them look like 1960s newspaper photos. It was too close to AI's uncanny valley effect.
-2
u/FrameworkisDigimon 21h ago
Well, it's a fun poster.
I'm still expecting this movie to be an incoherent clash of set up, bizarre adaptation decisions and tonal dissonance.
1
u/AgentP20 21h ago
Why?
0
u/FrameworkisDigimon 20h ago
Five reasons:
- I'm familiar with the source material they're using for Secret Wars, which is happening far too close to this movie for a storyline that depends heavily on Fantastic Four material
- Nate Moore seems to really hate the comics and while he's not involved with this particular movie directly, the fact he's as important as he is, demonstrates the company culture
- the MCU has essentially spent the last ten years making action comedies and nothing else, but this is a movie about a guy who eats planets
- the last time the MCU made a movie about planetary level extinction events, was literally just two years ago (The Marvels) and that film consists of bizarre adaptation decisions and tonal dissonance
- we already know this film has made a bizarre adaptation decision... no offence to hardcore Shalla-Bal fans but deciding to use her is strange... it's like making a Snow White movie without the seven dwarfs, strictly speaking they're not necessary to the plot but they're nevertheless an iconic expected element
You can probably make "guy who eats planets" into a joke, but there's a reason the comics play Galactus as a concept deadly straight... if a guy shows up to eat your planet, demonstrates that he can do it and starts doing it, for the fictional universe this has more in common with global warming or antibiotic resistance than carpool karaoke.

Its seems to be they're either self aware comedy action, buddy cop chemistry, overly sentimental or gimmicky wink at the audience. Apparently Batman is the only superhero that doesnt get the action comedy treatment.
