This is a pretty free-form subreddit, but there are a few rules. We have a ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY FOR ANY AND ALL SPAM. Reddiquette is always applicable to anything you do on reddit, but in this subreddit:
Adhere to the Reddit Content Policy and Reddiquette.
No sales of ANYTHING. No spam.
No posts of large drug operations. It limits our audience and there are far too many complaints about it. This isn't a place to advertise your grow business and it's not a place to brag about how much weight of cubes you can grow. There are plenty of subs for that type of thing.
Don't post pics of dried Psilocybe mushrooms. If your post title resembles this: "Are these 'good'?" or "Just got these from a friend, how much should I take?" or "Can anyone tell me what 'strain' these are?" - then it doesn't belong here.
This should go without saying, but no sourcing. Do not ask for drugs, locations of drugs, tips for finding, hunting, or scoring drugs in any specific place (hunting advice is generally accepted - habitat, seasonality, substrate, and range are all acceptable, and ID posts are always encouraged no matter the species, as long as they're not dried bagged "product"). Do not ask for any kind of hook-ups, plugs, websites, or any other means of procuring drugs.
Do not joke about eating mushrooms. No "Boof it!" or "Eat the whole bag" or "I dare you to eat that!" type comments. If your comment might endanger someone by misleading them or encouraging dangerous behavior, it will be removed and you may be banned.
Don't repeatedly post the same content, or similar content presented in a different way, including and especially art.
To all the lurkers, use the report button and use the downvote/upvote buttons to curate the sub yourselves as much as possible.
Be nice to each other in here.
Before you post an ID request, look at this: Tips for making an online ID request and read this: How to Make a Successful ID Request
For furthering your mycological knowledge, please consult the sidebar for a list of reliable online ID resources and links to nearly all other mushroom subreddits that exist.
*For the purposes of this post, "drugs" refers to intoxicating substances of ANY sort. Medicinal supplements, while technically drugs, are not the point, here. Feel free to post about teas and extracts and supplements of medicinal mushrooms, and we would love to see your giant Reishi grows or your commercial oyster warehouse.

The sub is still being moderated inadequately, and some of the newer mods are just not working out.
It's not a difficult position. Moderation here is relatively slow.
But it's not a music sub or a tennis shoe sub.
Misinformation and bad IDs here could end in tragedy, so the importance of moderating here is very different from other mod positions across reddit.
The position involves carefully examining all new posts quickly to ward off trolls and dangerous comments and posts, as well as spam and drug ads and marketing.
Let me know.

This was from fall 2023 but it comes back every year where I live in southern MA. I’m pretty certain it’s an amanita mushroom, but If it is either A. phalloides or muscaria, I would appreciate some suggestions on how to get rid of it. I have two dogs and a baby.
This grows on top of a hill covered in mulch under a bunch of oak trees.
Thank you!

It wasn’t intentional. I’ve always been. Knick-knack collector of sorts and over the years I just ended up with little FUNguys all over the place! I’m sure I missed one or two.

First time using grow bags and growing PE, had great success with monotubs in past but trying something new. Are yellow splotches in Bag 1 contamination or are we ok?

Found on a rainy chilly day in WV by a chicken coop. I know enough to know most of these have dropped spore and are spoiled but would like to know if it’s worth keeping a closer eye for them in the future. Any help or wisdom is appreciated….Thanks!

I live in Brazil and I always see this beautiful mushroom near my house. It appears every other week exactly on the same spot. Does anyone know what exactly is this mushroom?
(the second pic was taken roughly 10 hours after the first one)

I just transplanted these today's pots about 3 weeks ago. The potting soil was brand new I opened it to put in these pots. About a week later I noticed some mushrooms growing and then they died off and now I have some more and a second kind of mushroom. Can you guys help me with these? I don't know if they're safe to have inside around the kids or if they'll kill my plants?

Found these growing out of my front steps. Started some wine caps out back last year, but this is really far from there. There's an awful lot of cardboard and mulch in this spot, it's about 6"-10" deep. We get a good bit of wood ear type mushrooms growing in our path too. Wondering what every one thinks these might be. Thanks!

Have these mushrooms in a section of my yard. Usually pull them out but they keep growing back. Anyone know what type they are? Are they harmful to my yard?

As far as i can tell this may be Gymnopilus aeruginosus? I'd like to know more, found a bunch of them growing on a dead branch under a heap of other branches I was clearing, some have blue bruises? Also have brownish gills and have a rusty colour spores on my finger. Located in south east Queensland, Australia. Thanks for any help identifying.
