Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Indie I need help finding a song used in an Instagram ad

I like this catchy indie/alternative song used in an Instagram ad but whenever I look up the lyrics to try and find it all that comes up is a country song that doesn’t sound remotely like it. Here’s the lyrics I could make out “rolling down the 405 we go doze off the jeep and we stealing the show”. I need help finding this, please.

Pop Song about candy (or love?)

Upvotes

Back in like 2016, or maybe 2017, I joined a game on Roblox called “krusty krab tycoon”, that took you to a candy tycoon instead. I remember the background music had a song with a female singer saying “you’re a candy bar, light up baby”. I could possibly have the lyrics wrong, as I’ve searched EVERYWHERE and couldn’t find it. I can’t remember any other lyric, just the sound of her voice. I can’t even search through millions of Roblox audios anymore, because of that stupid audio update. It seems impossible to find, so I’d appreciate it if someone could help

Alternative song about lies in a lyrics video written from like 10/8/12 yrs ago

There was a song I listened to in middle school in those lyrics videos made by fans that went along the lines of how your lies are seeping/cutting/underneath into your skin and how you were entangled inside your web of lies. If you couldn't tell I was super into bands like starset, get scared, three days grace, (kill the lights and courtesy call were my favs) and many others with those middle school edgy vibes lol. I do kinda remember that there was a white background with a black effect in the background of the video to represent the web of lies ig? idk it gave me spider vibes and I was always too embarrassed to let people know I listened to that song for some reason. Pleaseeee help me find this song

Alternative Help me find this song from “Pretty Little Liars.” Lyrics: Are we coming Undone? Did we Fall From Grace? I’m thinking it’s late 90s/early 2000s.

Upvotes

I can’t find this song anywhere! It’s featured in season 5 episode 3 of Pretty Little Liars. Kinda sounds like Sneaker Pimps or Garbage.

Latin/Spanish Does anybody here know this exact song? It’s Spanish like and could be from the 2010s. A male voice is speaking nd the theme is about playing or dancing, I’m sensing that maybe the person singing could be Colombian too by the beat and accent, It’s very upbeat too, if anybody knows pls lmk

Upvotes

This is the only snippet I have of the song. I’ve found it in late of June 2023 on TikTok. I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE and tried using every resource I could to be able to track this song, ever since then it’s been a mystery to me. It’s very club sounding and dancey too

Rock This melody reminds me of a super popular 80’s classic rock song, I cannot think of the name.

Upvotes

So the new Minecraft movie is out, and the jack black song at the end is giving me such a vibe of a different song, not the lyrics or anything the guitar and drums in the background. I know I have heard that beat somewhere I just can’t figure it out. I know the drummer was the drummer for Nirvana and Foo Fighters but it’s too fast of a beat for Nirvana.

It starts at 1.17 and that cord progression is so familiar to a classic rock song that was super popular.

Please help 😭 I’ve been searching for an hour trying to figure it out.

Phonk Name that song from the copa America page 2021, the song is Brazilian, sounds like a recent new song, very upbeat type and party like. I couldn’t quite translate the Portuguese, tried Shazam and didn’t work. I’ll post the video here and hopefully someone who is Brazilian can help me find this song.

I got this video from copa America page on X, couldn’t find the same post on the other platforms.

Answered! Japanese song from 70s, city pop vibe

Upvotes

Hi, I'm searching for song I listened to a few years ago (on YouTube). I'm not sure about genre, but I'll try to describe this song as much as I can: - male voice - drums at start - YouTube recommended me this song while I was listening to japanese city pop from 1980s, it had a similar vibe, but it wasn't a 100% city pop song - in title there was a year when it was released, 197X (my mind remembers 1977, but I'm not so sure about it) - there wasn't any video to this song, only static image of city at night with led sign on the left (maybe it had word "love" on it) - I don't know how to explain it, but the first words of the song the singer dragged a lot. E.g. instead of singing simply "dog", he sang "dooooooog" - it wasn't a popular song like stay with me, it had less than 500k views, that's for sure

English is not my primary language so it might be hard for me to fully explain what I remember, but I hope that someone here maybe listened to this song as well 🙏

Edit: I only remember a short fragment of the melody with this long note mentioned above https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/4510831953444864

Instrumental I need help finding this viral song, solo guitar shifting smoothly into a sudden beat

There was a viral video on social media some years ago, it featured a guy in a studio with a guitar/headphones maybe glasses? professional quality group/video, bass guitar maybe? It was being called "the smoothest drop ever". It started off as a guitar solo and suddenly transitioned into an entire beat comprising of bass guitar, idiophone, keyboard maybe and I believe the idiophone set the melody of "dun - nuh nuh, nuh nuh" it was a middle aged guy but it was borderline jazz but had a classy hiphop vibe and was just cleeean. I can't get it out of my head there was a distinct head toward bob to the beat if that helps...

Meme/TikTok/YouTube Short Need help identifying instrumental background music from YouTube Short (likely electronic/trap, no lyrics)

Hey everyone, I found this background music in a YouTube Shorts video and I really want to know the name of the track.

Here's the video: https://youtube.com/shorts/bxMEDMhbgDU?si=ERsHv5iXts8CEULb
There's no lyrics, just a cool instrumental vibe — maybe electronic or trap genre.

Any help is appreciated!

Rock 90s 2000s alternative rock. Male artist singing to himself in the music video becoming old and turning to dust.

Looking for a song/music video. 90s 2000s alternative rock. Male artist singing to himself in the music video. He ages through the video and turns to dust. Tone of the video was darker and maybe colored Sepia. Lead singer may have had long hair.
