"Eggs are too expensive!"

"Best I can do is to make everything else more expensive"

The best way to make eggs cheap again is to make everything else more expensive! Then eggs are cheap by comparison.

“I’ll give you something to really cry about!”

Even if this all worked, wages would ever rise to the point that workers could afford anything, which would collapse sales and business.

The ones who want to return to the 1950's forget that their lifestyle was funded by nations rebuilding from WW2 and buying all the supplies from the US which made much more demand than was typical. Those who want to return to the 1850's had lifestyles funded by slavery. Those who want to return to the 1650's were stuck in feudalism and had zero agency in their lives.

Record high profits, record low labor by inflationary comparison.

"By comparison, eggs are pretty cheap now! Basically the only thing I can afford."
