NCR&D RIM-8 TALOS on horse steroids. SM-8 SATLAS Hypersonic SCRAMJET SAM/SSM and an AAM/ASM variant
The decommissioning of the TALOS was the most saddening historic moment to me. I miss my nuclear-capable mach 3 ramjet fleshlight-shaped missile that uses high explosive as a ram compressor :(

A modest Proposal Dam the Falkland Islands and build dry docks and ports
In the event of global conflict the Falkland Islands has the potential to become an essential hub for supremacy of arms and trade.
The choke point of Panama means that the first opening move in a big war may well be the annihilation of the canal with a nuclear cargo ship (worst case holy cow scenario). This means that all trade from the Atlantic to the Pacific and vice versa will be forced to take the old route at the bottom of the world.
This means that Britain should take the initiative today and dam up the Falkland Islands. I’ve taken the pain staking time to draw these lines on the map to show where the British may well decide to do this incredible world-wonder level undertaking. As you can see I draw these lines where it makes the most sense based on the distance between land masses thus saving on time and material whilst maximising the available interior for use. Probably.
Building canals over the land of the islands in the middle means ships cans be lifted over the ocean and into the interior where they can be serviced and stored. They can they be readied up/ constructed/ kept in storage for their future journeys into the unknown.
The reasoning is simple. Control of one of the most important choke points on earth.
The increased development of the Falkland Islands will allow Britain to forever retain its control over its rightful land should the Argies ever get uppity once Trump sends them F35s in return for tariff-free beef and wine (because their supply isn’t as nice).
Also I’m thinking that this is a very smart idea as the Antarctic treaty runs out in 2048 and rather than renewing it, we all know we will be burning it as a form of carbon neutral energy, moments before we all pounce on that virgin continent for its vast supply of minerals, the penguins be damned. Stupid birds.
The Brits should bring the Dutch in to build these dams in order to further the Anglo-Euro alliance structure, whilst offering the French access in return for them shutting up about the damn fish. Seriously guys, sod off.
The use of the Falklands by all of the powers in Europe will dissuade South America from getting upset but to further prevent any salty water flow downwards Britain should probably tell Chile that it can have Tierra Del Fuego if it throws down against Argentina if the worst were to happen.
Overall this is a good idea and I know you won’t disagree with me
I look forward to your applause.
