Because talking to strangers in line about random things never happens.
I think Doctor Fate would be the best President.

To be fair, Batman has received more electoral votes than any other superhero.

u/ScrattaBoard 23h ago
And more political tenure right? Wasn't he the mayor at some point? Maybe I'm thinking of something else
9
u/dracoblade64 22h ago
Green Arrow was a Mayor at one point, but I don't think batman was.
12
u/nottherealneal 21h ago
Batman is involved in Gotham politics to some minor extent depending on the cannon, But him running for mayor would harm his "Dumb rich playboy" cover
9
u/Mandaring 19h ago
And Lex Luthor was the President at one point, but the most unbelievable thing about that now is that he has actual public speaking skills
7
u/PM_ME_BATMAN_PORN 16h ago
"Lex Luthor 2028 - Because It Can't Get THAT Much Worse, Right?" should be his new platform

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 9h ago
Lex would be so much better and it wouldn't even be close. Lex is everything cultists think Trump is and everything a guy like me hates about Trump, only smart enough not to ruin the country in the process.
I forget what the bias is called, but the same reason in universe that very few people suspect Clark of being Superman is the same reason that a real life Lex with a reason to secure political office would do so easily with support from all sides.

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 9h ago
I like how there's multiple variations of the why and how, but several just boil down to "because it pisses [Superman] off."
3
u/Mandaring 8h ago
Everybody calls Professor Zoom the ultimate hater, but that’s only because he has superpowers, and can do something about it. Lex is out here as a baseline human beefing with one of the most famously powerful fictional characters just because he’s THAT fuckin jealous about people not liking him as much lmao

u/Sweet-Paramedic-4600 7h ago
One of my favorite youtube clips is Lex doing an interview with Clark while working out. Just hating how Superman didnt have to work for his strength. That a guy like Kent would be considered a good catch for a cynical city girl if Superman didn't make eveyone look inferior

u/Mandaring 7h ago
That’s from All-Star Superman, right? That comic’s in my top three, and I love that scene so much, damned good adaptation, too. Really explores their dynamic in a way I’ve never seen before. The absolute respect Lex has for Clark paired with his hatred for Superman isn’t something you see often, and that final battle I don’t wanna spoil here, great stuff

I read the comic and will watch the film adaptation soon. DC does great animated features

I think this is fake solely because those candidate picks sucked.

u/Dullea619 22h ago
Aquaman, Superman, or Batman? Because Capitan America and the Hulk would be great.
2
u/Dear_Musician4608 8h ago
How the the hell would the Hulk be a good politician?
Is he well-known for his diplomacy? No, he smashes everything that makes him mad.
1
u/Dullea619 7h ago
Exactly.
1
u/Dear_Musician4608 6h ago
So why did you say he would be great?
3
u/Dullea619 4h ago
You have to remember that his alter ego is Bruce Banner. Could you imagine the audacity it would take for a foreign government to test him? He really can't be killed, and he's one of the smartest people on the planet.

u/famousanonamos 12h ago
I remember when I was a kid the adults talking about writing in Mickey Mouse. Batman would be way better. Mickey wouldn't do crap.

when i was a kid my family used to take me with them to vote and let me vote for batman lol it's more common than they'd think

u/kioku119 4h ago
What do you mean that they let you vote as a kid?

Bro this screenshot could teach how to explain how politicians are but use super heros because you'd gather many more peoples attention

u/IceCream_Kei 4h ago
I vote either Tim Drake or Jason Todd.
Tim has the chance to either be an amazing President or to go full Super Villian... or both.
Jason Todd may be a Crime Lord and an Anti-Hero but he cares for the destitute and downtrodden. No child would suffer, go hungry, or be without an education with him in charge.

Not sure where you're from but people don't usually talk this douchey in real life.

u/TheCookieMonster80 1d ago
Not sure where you're from, everything you just said was douchey. This is a very plausible conversation.

u/Dullea619 1d ago edited 1d ago
You wouldn't talk to your kid about which superhero would be best?
Also, I've heard old men talk like that. My dad would definitely sound "this douchey" in real life.
17
u/AerwynFlynn 1d ago
I agree with you on this! I’ve definitely heard old men talk that way, and when my daughter is older I’d love to discuss superhero presidential options!

I can't remember ever voting before 8 pm, but I have had similar conversations with my kids in public. I don't see how this is douchey, and it's kinda nice when a stranger adds their 2 cents about favorite characters existing in our world.
Someone as earnest as Superman given an actual leadership role and not told to toe the line of status quo is hopeful.

My kitties will fuck you up daddy 😼

u/Dullea619 1d ago
Probably, that doesn't change the fact that you're trying way too hard to come across edgy.

u/kushyo69 1d ago
Sir, I will not give you the attn you seek.. good day sir!

u/Dullea619 1d ago
But... you responded to me again. That's literally giving me attention. Admit it, you are enjoying this.

u/kushyo69 1d ago
Alright, I admit it—I do enjoy our banter; you’re adorable when you think you’ve got the upper hand.

u/Dullea619 1d ago
I know. My students tell me I've got rizz. I thought that was an insult, but they told me it's a good thing.

I honestly and sincerely do not understand how any of that could be seen as douchey.
1
u/im_AmTheOne 22h ago
Ok cool... But if you put in your own pick or write anything on the card other than the cros to mark your candidate you could as well not vote at all
3
u/Kanye_ToThe 20h ago
I disagree - a spoiled vote or a vote for no one is still a vote, and still statistically represents your opinion
0
u/kioku119 4h ago
No, in normal elections that aren't completely dire, a vote of non confidence like that sends a message to whoever gets in that the voting population are not happy with what they are doing (if a lot did it). It actually can encourage people to pay more attention to what voters want in some cases and is basically a form of advocating for change.
Of course if one canidate is saying they are going to do particularly horrible things, voting against them to prevent that may outweigh expressing that you are disappointed with all options as to not accidentally help them if they are definitively a greater evil. If they are both about equally terrible or the stakes aren't that high though it may be worth using it as an act of protest.

So fake, absolutely unheard of for older people to strike up convo or join yours, especially if a child is involved /s

I think talking to kids about potential superhero presidents. And having an in depth analysis on which one would be best is a great way to teach them to be a responsible voter and analyze candidates in the future, I really like this.
