Actually the name is misleading. They don't eat crabs but krill. So they use the teeth to sieve it like whales do. Stupid naming, I know.

Aren't Krill technically crabs?

Maybe

They're crustaceans like crabs are, but they're more closely related to shrimp than crabs, even though they're not really shrimp either.

I am no expert but I assume they act like serrated knives. Good for cutting things that are hard on the outside and soft on the inside, so perfect for crabs

Imagine the time this poor beast spends on flossing each day.

My husband is missing a tooth and I wish this was an option for a replacement.

Replacing your husband with a seal seems like an overreaction to him missing a tooth.

The title says crab eater, so that’s my bet.

The name is weirdly misleading because it mainly eats krill. It sieves krill through the teeth like whales do.

Inconclusive

The name is misleading. It mainly eats krill. I don't know who named it.
