I think this is merging two of my big phobias (Megalophobia and Eremophobia)

You should watch The Mist then...

Maybe I should. Although i don't suspect The Mist will have the same calming effects of this picture. Lol

Near the end of The Mist, there are some scenes very similar to your picture. The one I like is a scene of a giant behemoth-like creature with hanging tentacles... That looks deliciously spine-chilling... Very recommended!

There's a bunch of stuff like this on that channel. I've become kinda obsessed with it. It's like my emotional intelligence is picking up the story, but my actual intelligence is too dumb. Lol

Y’know what’s funny? The idea of animals or creatures being really big doesn’t scare me, BUT the idea of a large animal or creature animatronics, TERRIFIES ME. Like an actual King Kong gorilla? Eh. No big deal. Just a giant ape. But the King Kong animatronic from that one ride? It makes my stomach drop just thinking about it.

Every story I hear about the way those anamatronics work makes me certain that I will never go near one. The stories about the T-Rex from Jurassic Park are terrifying. Especially if it got wet, or if someone was inside it trying to repair it...

Its funny how we have all these weird things that terrify us. It's fascinating.

I don't think an artistic creation meant to elicit fear or similar counts as oddly terrifying

It's their emotional response to it. You can't dictate what people feel

For me, what's odd about it is how it can make me feel these horrible things but can also feel cozy at the same time.

I get that, but the image of a giant creature approaching through the mist is not oddly terrifying. Nevermind

To you maybe. Odd things are somewhat subjective, this sub has definitely taught me that.
