My 1080 blew up during the pandemic just due to random chance. Card was in prisitine condition other than it's age.

I paid $1000 for acer vx15 with 1050ti, piece of shit constantly overheated and after 3 years running any game for 10 minutes caused it to shutdown. Learned my lesson about gaming laptops and bought a desktop with 3060 ti, 4 years old still going strong.

You just bought shitty laptop and probably didnt care about it thats all My lenovo legion rtx 2060 which i repaste atleast once a year runs all games like elden ring, spiderman etc probably on lower temps than your desktop My temps now are ~80 on cpu and 74 on gpu in games

Shitty laptop, yes, has nothing to do with repasting, it had to do with the locked in fan curve which was tied to CPU load instead of temperature. Forums were filled with people complaining of the same issue and Acer not giving a fuck.

Still running 1050ti, i5-8400, 8gb RAM and a 256gb nvme (plus an 'aftermarket' 1tb ssd).

Yes, it's a prebuilt from a shitty company in 2018, how can you tell?

A 25gb nvme exists?

I have a 1050ti PC hooked into my tv just for movies and shit still. Works excellent.

I actually have mine hooked to the TV, too. It still works, so why throw it away? :)

I just upgraded to it too lol. Had a GTX 745 hooked into my old 1080 tv that but the dust.

Bought a new tv and learned the GTX 745 just doesn't have the HDMI version to 4k/60fps and decided to upgrade haha.
