Solved removing white background from detailed image

Post image

is there any easy way to remove all the white from this image? the background remover takes away the finer details and the magic/background erasers are very tedious to use. if anyone has any ideas that would be amazing!

The steps in the video will work. My preferred method for making this gives a simpler one-layer setup that is a single color fill layer with a mask. Iā€™d say it is faster and end result is usually more convenient that his recommendation (depending on what you need it for). Gives perfect results (same as copying into mask).

  1. Ctrl-click the RGB channel (loads it as a selection)
  2. Add solid color fill layer (black)
  3. Ctrl-i to invert (the mask)
  4. Delete the original layer.

You can now easily change the color at any time by double-clicking the layer thumbnail. Simpler to change than a color overlay. :)

I use the Ghost plug in from Flaming Pear
http://www.flamingpear.com/freebies.html

It did this. This is a .zip of your file - need to look on desktop

No plug in required. Just copy and paste the image into the mask of a solid colour layer.
