The freaking Anti-Defamation League makes excuses for it! It's insane. It just goes to show how it's all a sham for political gain. Everyone's grandparents/great grandparents would be absolutely appalled at the current state of things.

The ADL doesn’t really speak for American Jews anymore. Their mission is to fundraise for Israeli causes and any protection of Americans is purely incidental or convenient. Which is fine if that’s what they want to do - I just wish they’d stop pretending to speak on my behalf.

That said, they did turn around on their Elon defense the day after the Heil when he made a Nazi joke on Twitter. Which is…. Well, they don’t deserve a cookie for doing the bare minimum.

They didn't turn around shit. They just said please dont joke about the holocaust. Still firmly pushing that the salute wasn't a salute.

The salute wasn’t a salute. BUT, if it wasn’t a salute then what was it exactly? And why was it so shockingly exactly similar to that movement and done twice, and done by someone who was recently involved in right wing politics in Germany of all places?

And now this is being repeated by civilians at Disneyland on up to Bannon here at CPAC. But sure. Sure, it’s not the Nazi salute. Right?

It’s absurd people will get technical about it yet it’s fully clear he’s doing a drug heil

Cant wait until it happens enough times that the ADL can no longer defend it. And believe me, I have light skin, light hair and blue eyes. I would do fine in a nazi world. It's odd being the one trying to stand up for the disparaged when the people being stepped on are so willing to defend their steppers. Just like hispanics voting for Trump and then having their family deported. At some point I'm just like exhausted of it. Let em fucking find out what that salute meant. They voted for this shit. Drive through Hasidic brooklyn, Trump signs were everywhere.

Because modern Netanyahu style Zionism is 100% in line with the rest of the global far right.

Except Netanyahu is extremely unpopular…? He had an 88% disapproval rating as late as October, he’s just gripping on to power to avoid those charges at this point

To be clear, that’s not because they are against mass killing of Palestinian civilians. It’s specifically because they think he didn’t put enough effort into securing the hostages, and because they think his war in Gaza is turning the world against Israel. Israelis that oppose bombing Gaza for human rights sake is a very small minority.

Denial is a hell of a drug.

It'll be interesting to see how they turn themselves into a pretzel to excuse this one as well.

I have a co-worker who is from Israel. He said in Israel most people are Republican and I asked why. He said there is something about a power construct and power pyramid that keeps people in check. Knowing there is a bigger bully on the playground makes you less likely to be out of line and that it keeps peace. He said Democrats are more about sharing power, and that causes a lot of conflict internally as to who is the biggest bully on the playground and sends mixed messages to the people. I found his opinion rather fascinating.
