So we're just assuming that everyone watches King of the Hill religiously I guess? My mistake for not remembering a single quote from an episode that I may or may not have watched ~20 years ago, clearly I should recollect such details with perfect clarity. As you can see though, I was obviously not the only person who didn't recognize the source. Not sure if everyone forgot what quotation marks are or not either, but typically they are used to indicate that the text contained inside of them is a quote. I guess I should just know every line of every TV show that I have or haven't watched though, maybe then I'll measure up to random redditors' expectations.
Odds are pretty good the person you're responding to got the joke wrong, but I do remember an episode of Top Gear where...the skinny, younger one...made a joke about 'scratch [the Fiat logo] off and there's a Ford sticker under there.' Or maybe the joke went the other way.
It's been a very long time since I saw the episode, so my memory is kind of fuzzy on the precise line, but that was the gist of the joke, and I know it was Ford and Fiat. They were mocking a much more expensive car for being 'cheap', and 'if you scratch the [brand] label off, it says Fiat,' then the second joke.
