‘Insane government sprawl’ is mostly a meme the right uses to justify tax cuts for the wealthy and cut services for the disadvantaged, they don’t ever actually balance the budget or touch the military. Elon’s companies are massive recipients of government money, and Elon is not an engineer that built any of those things. It also isn’t the executive branch’s job to change how money that congress allocated for specific purposes be spent.

You’re also trying to shift the conversation away from the original point, which is that Elon is a shithead and people are furious at him for good reason. If he dropped dead tomorrow from another botched penis surgery we’d still have electric cars and rockets, we’d just have one less shit-poster with a megaphone.

I don't want tax cuts. I want the insane government sprawl to be cut down because the government is WAY too big and we are in WAY too much debt. That's my big issue, honestly. I want spending to be cut, and taxes to stay or be raised in some areas (and simplified, please god simplify taxes) so that we can cut into this damn deficit. And sure, you can say Elon didn't build the rockets or the cars, but also nobody else has done anything else close to what he and his companies have done. So maybe he's not the engineer, but he's clearly done something to unlock a hell of a lot. And maybe the executive branch needs to step in when Congress has had no accountability for their spending?

And we could probably say the same thing if you dropped dead tomorrow...one less shit-poster, but at least with Elon, he's had an impact on the world in the form of EVs and reusable rockets.
