Even on looks it's a fail. There is a requirement that there should be no sharp edges along front (and rear) panels that might hit pedestrians to reduce injuries (there is also a requirement for these to be fairly easily collapsible crumple zones for the same reasons). So this truck fails even on 'looks' because of its sharp angular edges.
These laws controlling the safety of road vehicles varies from country to country, just as the terms of getting and keeping a driving license do. From what I understand, the US does not impose the same level of safety criteria upon car manufacturers in the US as the European market does.
