I loved seeing that within minutes of musk tweeting something connecting Carlos Slim to organized crime, Slim cancelled $7B worth of starlink contracts, and later announced a plan to invest $22B in European and Chinese competitors

Ontario Canada also cancelled a (yes I know very minimal sum in comparison) 100m deal for starlink as well.

The prize is the $42B Federal program. I guess they're just figuring out how Trump and the other politicians are going to personally benefit from the contract.

Unfortunately, the American government isn't bailing on Starlink.  That is helping outside observers realize how corrupt this administration is, for Musk is sparing anything that he knows is helpful to him.

Well yeah, it's clearly a massive security risk.

It may take some time for governments to put up their own versions but honestly it's better than being at the whims of a ketamine riddled psychopath.

Yeah. I feel bad for people about to lose service but this threat needs to be cancelled out immediately.

This has been my favorite part of this hellscape

he's evidenced that Starlink will literally be used as a tool to bully other countries to comply, nowhere will be interested in using it governmentally in the future
