Just a reminder to unplug ALL your alexa devices. As of March 23 all voice recording will be saved ant sent to Amazon

Google saves interactions that you can manage. Alexa is now saving everything regardless of interaction. It means your echos etc will always "be listening" and storing everything said around them.

I thought google only listens for the ok google before turning on the mic to listen

That's what I mean by "interaction". Sorry, if that was unclear. Google also allows you to edit and change your voice saving permissions unlike alexa.
