That’s a bit simplistic.

Trump isn’t just a stooge of Putin. They support each other because they’re likeminded and have similar goals. They both want to return to a pre-modern world order where internationalism is a myth and major powers carve up the world in spheres of influence and are allowed to do whatever they wish within their sphere. A world where everything is a zero sum game and you can only win by someone else losing. They want to beat everyone else, not just win.

Of course that’s not how the real world works, multiple parties can win in foreign relations or domestic politics. Countries work together for mutual benefit: But they can’t stand that so they’re trying to force the world to fit their imagined ideal.

He's a stooge for Putin. Trump could run the world if he used his zero sum games against Russia and was a full supporter of Ukraine but he's not. He's a Russian asset. And is tanking the world economy
