Someone said during the election something like "Trump is the first candidate in history whose supporters hope he doesn't keep his promises."

I saw it once as,

Democrats to their politicians: "I hope he does what he said he'd do."

Republicans to their politicians: "I hope he doesn't do what he said he'd do."

Like, who is forcing these people? If somebody walked up to me and said, "Hey, if you give me a gun, I'll shoot you." I'm not gonna hand them a gun and say, "You better not shoot me..."
