Spoiler alert 2: They're not "testing" either, they give Russia free reign.

exactly.

trump/rubio say they want to stop the fighting, but putin wants ukraine to stop fighting - and trump/rubio are too cowardly to confront putin on it.

Russia: "We will crush you like bugs and steal your lands"

Rubio: "I think they want peace"

Russia has lost 1,000,000 troops, almost every tank in their massive arsenal, most of their frontline helicopters, most of their fighters, their PMCs have been wiped out, their regular troops wiped out, they are on their 4th or 5th mobilization of untrained civilians to throw at machine guns. They want to keep what they stole. They want to keep the things they murdered tens of thousands of civilians to take.

trump is trying to let that happen. This "peace" talk is a farce to let putin keep what he wants. Meanwhile last "peace" talk putin murdered a dozen children by firing dozens of cruise missiles into civilian housing districts.

"look this test is very scientific, we'll just keep stacking dead Ukrainian civilians, and if the pile goes higher than this line we'll give Putin a stern talking to and some loans"

European allies have been urging Washington to take a tougher stance on Moscow and push for a serious commitment to a ceasefire, with some suggesting that a clear deadline should be set. Moscow “owes an answer to the United States”, which had “worked very hard to come up with a mediation effort and a ceasefire proposal”, the French foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, said in Brussels, standing alongside the British foreign minister, David Lammy.

“[Putin] could accept a ceasefire now, he continues to bombard Ukraine, its civilian population, its energy supplies,” said Lammy. “We see you, Vladimir Putin, we know what you are doing.”

You all are going to hear a lot of "we meant to do that"... in the next few weeks.

They'll probably test for a few years or so, hoping that Russia achieves peace, in a "created a wasteland and called it peace" sense.
