In front of congress in an officially recorded meeting. No shame. No stutter. No wince. Just quoted like it was normal and then called out (briefly and feebly) by a single congress woman.

Sad times we live in.

Not necessarily in the context saying Nazis are good. I mean comparing anti disinformation to “the real Nazis” is really bad and par for the course right wing tactics but it’s not exactly supporting fascism.

…right, but he still memorized and used a Goebbels quote. He could have said what he was thinking in his own words, but he decided to quote a horrible Nazi. And calling anything other than actual Nazis “the real Nazis” completely undermines and downplays how actually awful and terrible the Nazis truly were. But no, I’m sure he thinks fascism and Nazis are bad, you’re right. /s in case that’s necessary
