Many will never get it. Chatted with a maga neighbor who is on disability(works under the table), gets EBT, Medicaid. Told me that trump is doing what has to be done and all will be wonderful. Said that Elon pays the highest salaries and bennies of any corporation in existence and will make our government run like a well oiled machine because he builds rockets. Last time we ventured into politics he told me repeatedly while chasing me down the street, insisting that trump could not be responsible for Jan. 6 because he was in Maralago. When the insurrection happened Biden was in the WH, Biden caused it.

No, no, the truly devoted will never believe anything resembling the truth. Oh and he insists that he’s not maga but an independent. Lol,lol, lol.

Report him for disability fraud. Fuck them. Social Contracts are socially enforced.

It’s crossed my mind. You should hear him rail about government fraud.

Seriously, do it. By just watching it, you are making yourself part of the problem. Consequences are all they understand, because they have lived without them for so long.

We all need to be making an effort to bring the consequences. These scumbags are way too comfortable with their grifts and want "others" locked up for made up reasons. Make them fucking pay.

I also vote for the report him option

And you should report him already. We’re well past the point where we can look at these people and just go “oh, that goof, teehee.” These people are dangerous (he chased you down the street for fuck’s sake), and need to be treated accordingly.

That’s what so-called independents always say. I always ask them if they’ve ever voted for anyone but a Republican. So far no one has ever answered yes.

If your neighbor is collecting disability but working under the table, report him for fraud. These are the same people who always scream about welfare moms, so fair play.

Long before Trump, I was working a Democratic campaign, knocking on doors of Republican women and independents. I had one "independent" tell me he couldn't vote for a Democrat because he was an independent. Libertarians and independents always vote Republican.

And anyone calling themselves a Libertarian who votes for this is a lying clown even more than the "independent" ones.

I am an independent and always have been and I vote usually for Democrats including Kamala Harris. So this is not true.

I don’t trust either party establishment at all, but I recognize Harris was the lesser of two evils by far (and still a terrible candidate imo).

So I am firmly an independent, but not a Trump voter by any stretch. There are a lot of people like me. I even know Republicans who just didn’t vote because they also hate Trump.

Well in fairness I’m an independent who years ago voted Republican once or twice when the dem was an idiot but that was pre Reagan. I resent having to declare which side I’m on. But yes, i understand your point. And yes, he does go on about government fraud. The delusion is strong in this one.

I'm an independent who has always voted Democrat. Mostly because I can't stand organized religion. I feel like picking a party sets people up to become more and more extreme in whichever direction they pick and it makes us less able to relate to each other. Which is where we are at now. Back in the late 1990s there were still some redeemable Republican ideas. Reagan and Gingrich hadn't destroyed the party completely yet. I liked the idea of fiscal accountability. Then it turned into slimy businessmen getting into bed with even slimier Evangelical religious right types. At least the Democrats were still trying to run the country and not condense power and money.

Would it make you feel any better to know that there is at least one independent (me) who has never voted republican? I'm left of the democrats

Independent means:

  • "Republican with some remaining shred of shame"
