Discussion Homeless guy got hit by car downtown on burnside
I was walking on burnside over by the stadium, and a homeless man ran across the street when cars were going 30mph or so, got hit directly on by a car, did two or three flips before landing almost on the side walk when he was in the middle lane when he got hit…
Me and some guy stopped and asked if he was okay, to which he replied by yelling at us that he can see fine in the sunlight, putting back on his shoes that had flew off when he got hit, and walking away..
But it really surprised me that nobody stopped, the car who hit him didn’t stop, and aside from me and the other guy walking by, nobody even seemed to care about what had just happened…

Lost & Found Found Wallet
A wallet was returned to my mailbox to someone who used to live at my address. If anyone knows a person that goes by either Clarity or Edie that used to live on Jarrett street and has recently lost their wallet, please let them know. It has things that I assume would be annoying to replace. If anyone knows what process I should start to help return the wallet if posting here doesn’t work, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Discussion Putting this into the universe...Ankeny Tap & Table becomes...
Can someone or I have suggestions on certain somone's please, take over the Ankeny Tap & Table with a charcuterie + wine bistro thing.
Hear me out I feel like Cowbell, Cheese & Crack Snack Shop and Vino could all team up and create a little charcuterie, wine, and ice cream paradise where Ankeny (and/or potentially the Gorges Beer Co. space) was.
That is all, this is my dream for that space.

News Police chase on sandy tonight
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Anyone have any info? Around 6:40 tonight, a ton of cops and sheriffs chasing a U-Haul truck down Sandy blvd. Tire spiked at 135th and eventually pit maneuvering the U-Haul into parked cars in the Friendly Village shopping center just before 131st. Suspect took off running and police kept driving/running after them.

The quarterly Portland Night Market is popping off this Friday and Saturday!
Come soak up some... 🎨 Interactive Art 🎙️ Live Music 🍻 Eats and Drinks galore 🧶 Over 150 Local Vendors slinging everything from handcrafted earrings to small-batch hot sauce. (I haven't gotten confirmation on these things, I just couldn't imagine a Portland market without them.)
Bring your ethically sourced tote bags and a good mood in case you get caught in the line to get in! It's a crowd favorite, after all.

Discussion Legacy Health Desperate for Surgeries?
It’s so weird to be soliciting patients for weight loss surgery as if it is a casual choice and not altering your body with risks for complications. I’m not against the surgery or people doing what they need to for their health, but someone managing their health will come to this choice with their doctor not from an email.

News 17% layoff at Portland’5 Theaters
Just got this email from Portland’5 (I’m a volunteer).
Hello everyone,
I wanted to take a few minutes to provide an update on the latest news regarding the financial position of Portland'5. As Rachael Lembo explained during the volunteer update meeting in January, Portland'5 was given the direction by Marissa Madrigal, COO of Metro to present a balanced budget for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. In order to do that, Portland'5 has had to lay off 12 positions, 5 were open positions (vacancies) while 7 were full time positions, filled with staff members. These 12 positions are roughly 17% of our full time work force. We were notified of these positions yesterday, with the layoffs taking place on July 1, 2025.
While both Megan and I are safe in our positions for the time being, our department will lose two employees and we will have to absorb part of those work responsibilities. We will know more about that in the coming months. The revised budgets for all of the Portland'5 venues will be presented to Metro tomorrow at a public meeting.
I will keep you informed on how things look by the end of the fiscal year, and as we move into 2025/2026. As always, thank you for your support.
Take care,
