Research found no evidence to support myth that women’s cognitive abilities change across menstrual cycle. Given physiological changes that occur across menstrual cycle, the changes to the brain are either small enough that they don't influence performance or women compensate for these changes.

Different personality types has nothing to do with hormonal fluctuations.

Actually, hormones influence personality massively from puberty onwards, and hormonal changes can and do alter personality traits and behaviour. Hormones are everything. It's very interesting to learn about.

I think you're confusing mood and personality. Are you on the spectrum?

I am autistic, but no, I'm explaining biology that you are free to explore yourself. But on a side note away from periods and menopause, I am biploar and in biploar, major personality changes happen dependant on mood phase so that's another example of the connection between mood and personality.

Having a mood or neurological disorder is connected with having an atypical experience. This medical study reflects the experience of most neurological people. This does not mean that your or the root poster's specific experience is irrelevant which is why I was commiserating in the first place.
