Trip Planning FL to CO

Post image

Which of the routes would be best to follow for an early October roadtrip? Recent weather has me skeptical of driving through the Midwest

Going through Dallas and NOLA will be great for a family if you have one, but also good if you are by yourself!

Emerald Coast, Mobile, NOLA, Texas. Definitely pick the lowest routs

Weather’s just the midwest. The drive through Kansas is not as bad as some people make it out to be, but the KC-STL beltway is incredibly drab and boring.

The drive through Kansas is worse than we can make it out to be with sheer words

For my taste the Big Sky-ness and brief stint in the flint hills beats out the McDonalds semi-urban highway development between the two missouri cities. Yes, even if you’re looking at soybeans for five hours straight. Sometimes there’s sunflowers!

Throughout recent history, sunflowers have been used for medicinal purposes. The Cherokee created a sunflower leaf infusion that they used to treat kidneys. Whilst in Mexico, sunflowers were used to treat chest pain.

Wow, didn’t know there was a resident sunflower bot. Learn something new everyday

for early october, take the inland route. october is hurricane season and that will be the biggest threat if you're worried about weather

You can easily spend hours in traffic getting through Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, etc. mostly Atlanta though. Personally, I'd research the two southern routes a little more and forget entirely about the northern route just because of the traffic alone.

Driving through Dallas is crazy! We just drove from there to home in East Texas this morning, lots of major road work going on. We grew up around Dallas and now its just too crazy.

I must say East Texas is very pretty to drive thru Tyler is a gorgeous little city. Dallas has amazing food. If you drive I would do it on a Sunday.
