Long time Lurker…

Long time listener, first time caller…

Just picked up my first Rolex this week. I bought a Speedmaster two years ago and this is my second Swiss watch.

I absolutely love my Speedy, but the DJ is beautiful on a different level and I am in awe’s. Whereas with the Speedy is understated and in my experience mostly only recognized by others who are enthusiasts (one of the main reasons I love it), the DJ is a showstopper. In fact, I’ve been a bit self conscious wearing it. Embarassed, even?

I should not be, as I worked hard to buy this piece.

All in all happy to be part of the community and it’s definitely ignited a passion in me to collect more in the future.

Congrats on the DJ, it's a stunner! And the speedy is a classic. You've got a great two watch combo there.

Congrats on DJ, I have this one and it’s awesome…wear it as much as possible it’s such a versatile piece. And nobody really notices your watch so don’t feel self conscience about it

This. 99% of people don't notice your watch. I can count on one hand the number of people who have commented on any watch of mine over the last decade or so.

Some people might notice you have a watch on and a few will be able to tell it's something nice but the vast majority of the population couldn't identify the brand let alone reference of pretty much any watch.

We live in a bubble of people comparing references and changes over the various generations- a very very small bubble.

lol yes I have so many nice pieces and only gotten 5-6 comments in 5 years. Always from guys

I get a laugh out of people thinking people especially girls notice their watch.

Nobody cares

When I bought my first DJ41, I was the same way. Nervous to let it be seen, etc. After a year or so- I could not possibly care less. KILLER piece, man. Enjoy it!
