So you get to create more fossil fuel from the burned fossil fuels using the sun? This would have been great in 1960 if we left fossil fuels in the ground, but today? Would love to know the efficiency of the process, better than trees?

if we create new fossil fuel, then we no longer need to take more out of the ground

Only if it is competitive enough. Remember we are living in a Capitalistic world. No new invention gets to be used if they don't pass the investment and assumed ROI first. Sorry to burst your bubble.
