Discussion Shadow of the Colossus still doesn't launch?

I understand that majority of playable games for this emulator has more todo with being "trickle-down" programming for Bloodborne. Where the developments main focus is improving upon the emulator so that it benefits bloodborne first and foremost, and if another game becomes playable as a result then its a bonus.
But I'm very surprised that SOTC still does not even launch, yet I know of 18 ps4 games that are able to launch with varying degrees of performance. Normally I wouldn't bring this up, but the reason I am is because:

SOTC could run really well for all we know

but we won't know until we get past the launch screen. Now I'm not well versed whats going on behind the scenes with shadps4, it could be a huge programming hurdle thatll take months, it could be something small that will take them 5 minutes, or maybe even something having todo with the legalities of it. If anyone knows the reason, definitely share it.

"Game might run good, only problem is that it doesn't run at all."

out of all the takes about the emulator, that's certainly one of them.

RPCS3 began in 2011, only several years later it could run a good number of games, hell, PCSX2 began in 2002 and i don't know if any game was playable at all until 2012-2014, shadps4 impressive evolution in so little should be recognized

" it might run good, but the crashing on launching is really holding it back." almost like the crashing isn't a choice of the dev, and if the launch crashes i can't see the game running beautifully because the launcher is part of the game, and it crahses. saying it could play fine if it could just pass the launch, yea almost like playing it includes the launch part and it doesn't run. we don't know the reason, it's ps4 emulation on pc, it takes tinkering and some things just don't work flat out right now. a year ago playing any ps4 game on pc was a dream, be patient or get to developing your own

There's no choice - just got to wait until the devs get around to implementing whatever missing or broken opcode is preventing the game from booting, and even then there is no guarantee there isn't gonna be another hurdle right after it.

Just keep in mind - ShadPS4 is a non-commercial project that isn't even one year old, being made by some talented dudes on pure enthusiasm, and it can already run a few AAA games near-perfectly! Just have patience and maybe donate to their Co-fi.

Lower your expectations, specially if you don't know nothing about developing

You need to massively revise your expectations downward. Like expect it to take anywhere from a year to never.

The PS4 remake, not the PS2 game or the PS3 remaster
