Religionist arguments make my brain hurt.

This one.

"Snowshoe rabbits prove the bible."

"Some kid's imagination proves past lives."

One bullshit. Many ways.

My former college roommate once argued to me that the fact that ā€œbananas are perfectly engineered to the human handā€ was evidence for God. I think he got that argument from some Young Earth Creationist (likely Ken Ham.)

I invited him to try wrapping his hand around my fucking dick, and long story short I got a new roommate the next semester.

Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. I guess I'm old now, it was a hilarious meme 15 years ago. https://youtu.be/Llvx4VYL79U?si=kfIgDjrDh-sRs44O

Thatā€™s the problem with religionā€” it can be used to justify anything and anything can be used as proof of its legitimacy.

He talks fast and then speeds it up so you just get washed in the nonsense.

He sneaks in the "someone or something must have created it. Just because" like no one has ever heard that before. Like that's the most novel argument ever.

I love this because they always start off with a bit of math and science and then just state that something had to have started it all and it had to have existed outside of the universe. They give no real reason, no maths, no science, just... Because.

And so then he says there can only be one, because they might bicker? Did he every consider that maybe it snows because one wants it to be cold and the other wants it to rain? This shit is so stupid. He claims "it was meant to be unlimited", meant to be by whom? Why does it have to be unlimited? Why can it but have just kick started everything and then gone back to sleep forever? There's no reasoning here, it's all starting from presuppositions.

Then he refutes Christianity by saying that God can't be hungry.

And I'm an atheist, raised a Christian, though. He basically takes an out of context line from the bible and uses some sophomoric reasoning from it to simply the whole faith go poof. A 13 year old in confirmation class could explain the tripartite God, as stupid a concept as it is, but it's not 3 gods. This is incredibly lazy.

He hand waves Buddhism and Hinduism because too many gods and not enough gods... Because "WE concluded" that because of the laws of conservation there must be one God... Fuck me this guy is an arrogant idiot.

According to him the only difference between Islam and Judaism is that Islam thinks Mohammad is a prophet. And then he quickly pulls out claims about the Quran that have been widely debunked dozens of times to prove Mohammed is a real prophet.

Case closed?

God damnit, why? So many fallacies: God of the gaps, special pleading, assuming too much, wishful thinking.

The worst part of it is this guy probably thinks he's special for putting this together when this is probably the laziest presentation of these arguments I've ever seen.

And when you debunk it with their own scripture you'll be told you've got a bad translation

I wish all the crazy "Science Proves My Religion" people would debate each other and tire themselves out.

Imagine if two people who believed in magic started shouting at each other for saying the wrong magic words.

That'd be a great video to watch. This guy, Spirit Science and one of the Christian crazies all going at each other randomly refuting one person's bullshit with their own.
